AirLens Reviews

One is made in the USA, one is made in China. Hence the diff in price.

In my case, I got credit for my old Bridge II so my AirLens cost me $1399.

I control play with my trusty iPad using Roon, so I have album art, metadata and playback control close at hand.

I personally don’t need another screen across the room showing me what I already have in my tablet.

All my equipment (except my tube amps in winter) stays on or in standby 24/7 unless I am out of town for any length of time.

winter seems like the perfect season to keep tubes running :upside_down_face:

Summer is for the outdoor activities. Winter thrives on tubes.

For a few years I stuck with Primaluna Dialogue Premium tube monos running four KT150s each paying not only for the juice to run them, but on many Northern California evenings also paying for the AC to keep things livable.

To stay on topic, I really like the AirLens in my system!

Glad way through vacation house lost power. Now I have to walk someone how to keep the burn in going ugh.

Indeed. I’ve had it in my system about ten days and the sound is so much better when compared to Bridge II. Paul and the PS Audio crew have a hit on their hands!

My only caveat is not having AirPlay capability. That’s a big minus in my book. I understand the reasoning but…

Best review yet: connected the AirLens, starting playing, wife walks into room and says “that sounds better”.

'Nuff said…close the thread!

Enjoy, Dave

They might just do this to make us feel better
My Airlens arrived, too, but went for my usual tuning first.

I have had the same experience. When my wife says it sounds better, I know it sounds better.

This is the way.

Here, the standard is my wife takes a seat and with her iPhone/iPad selects the tracks on our INNuos ZEN or ZENith that she prefers. Nothing casual about it!

Just got mine two days ago. Sounds fantastic. Have it connected to my DirectStream DAC using I2S. I am using the Stellar Strata as my amp. Using KEF LS50 Meta speakers. Everything connected to the Power Plant 3 along with my DirectStream Memory player. Great improvement in the base. Expanded sound stage. Could not be happier.

That’s awesome! Thanks for letting us know.

Just played Octave Records Art of HiFi: Bass on the AirLens. DSD 256. House is shaking. Very nice.

How does it sound through your DS Memory player compared to Airlens?

Let me preface this with the fact that I am 74 years old. My hearing is not what it used to be. With that in mind, I still give a slight preference to the Memory player.

For me music from a good transport like DS Memory Player or Metronome Kllista or SACD transport or … sounded always much better to my ears in comparison to the “computer Hifi” (NAS, PC, Qobuz, Tidal etc.). For the first time: there is no more a quality question. Both sources are playing at the same level and that I couldn’t believe that this could happen. There is a new Sheriff in town  :muscle:
I’m really happy with the AL and therefore: thanks to Paul and his team.
