I just received an Antipodes DS GT server
There are two USB outputs … one normal and another with 5 volts.
To connect my Directstream with USB, which output would be the best, with or without 5volts
The DS is a self-powered USB device. It does not need the 5V to operate. However, the DS indirectly uses the 5V to see if a cable is connected. So use the 5V output.
You will not hurt anything if you do not use the 5V output, but the connection may be flaky and unreliable.
