I am trying your configuration, so with midrange on natural instead of rich.
Not very different, but nice so far.
Since Iām using Cardas Clear Beyond XLR and speaker cables, the āRichā setting over-embellishes the midrange for my tastes.
Iām shocked and surprised that those Levinson amps have enough power to drive those MBLās! They must be the little amps that could! Kudos
275 watts into 8 ohms and 550 watts into 4 ohms in bridged mono. Levinson amps are also typically conservatively rated.
As they say in France: Small but strong. I wanted to get the 536 but I was told that the ā600ā series was coming out soon, so I bought two 5302 amps in the meantime.
Guys I need to check out the setting on the back of mine but donāt have the time the next week. If I remember correctly these settings also help compensate depending on the liveliness or lack thereof of the room. Note on the 9011 amps the selection of using one, two, or three transformers is dependent on the load of the speakers and also the room variables of lively or dead.
@minnesotafats whatās the weight on each of the amplifiers?
About 1/4 a Gryphon Apex. Nyah nyah!
Al Angen aka MinnesotaFlex!
9011s weigh I think around 215lbs each.
How much does the DāAgostino relentless weigh ?
Per their site, 570 pounds!
As itās mono, youāll need two.
Each has a 5.5 kW power supply.
This is insane.
Wow thatās more than the Gryphon Apex at Ā« only Ā» 450 pounds.
I had the opportunity to see a Gryphon Apex earlier this week at Audio Salon in Boca Raton courtesy of John Iconomou (the owner). Itās a beast! I mentioned to Al (who gets to view and hear an Apex daily) that Iāve seen smaller coffee tables. Pictures on the Gryphon web site donāt do justice to the scale of the Apex.
John mentioned he expects to have a Relentless in his store as early as next week. Since itās mono, Iām assuming heāll have two.
The Apex and the Relentless are both amazing
The Apex is a beast.
I canāt fathom having to send a 500 lb amp in for warranty service.
