The amp by itself is lightweight, only 445 pounds ![]()
Someone would come get it. They would do all the work.
Maurice!!!
MBL gets a lot of praise for their speakers (rightfully so), but they make good electronics too. Years ago I had the MBL 1621 transport with the matching 1611 DAC. It was a beautiful combo in both looks and sound, rivaling the top Esoteric and dCS machines I also had at the time. Not quite sure why I moved away from them but I bet they still hold up to this day.
Every time I hear MBL speakers I think I might own some one of these days. Currently very happy with my Duevel Bella Luna Diamante omni speakers which tells me MBL would be a great logical next step.
I am a fan of the transport and the Dac. The Dac is underrated because it hasnāt changed in design for over a decade.
3MA has a 1621a transport for sale. A bargain for that transport imo.
There is also an older 1521 for sale
Hi Any other close up picture of the crossover? I am trying to figure out the midrange scheme. I almost get.,but would be great if I could identify the back layout. I have noticed that It Is possibile to recognize the signal Path on the back because the circuit Is slightly trasparent. Any High resolution picture of the bottom right part of the crossover Is approcciate
Been a while since anyoneās posted so I thought I would give a room update with the addition of more rugs on the floor and absorption panels on the ceiling. Blue crushed velvet couch (absorption) for $450 at goodwill :). Curtains, albums on back wallā¦all of these things have helped tame this large room. Fake plants for diffusion. New more quiet refrigeratorā¦all additive to the listening experience. The Chinese paper walls to disguise the subs makes the fiance happier without impacting sound. Elevated amps above each other on both sides to clear up floor space and hide the 9011 amps from view. I think room looks better with them behind the subs. Your opinion may differ.
Most impressive, it has come a long way. Sonically it must be very special.
Beautiful! The amps are great looking but I understand hiding some things for esthetics.
Your audio space has certainly come a long way. It aināt easy to hide gear and speakers without sonic compromises but it looks great and Iām sure it sounds great too.
Where did you hide the PSI active bass traps?
I see the TV to the right.
You donāt incorporate those Extremes when watching movies?
I use my MBL101E speakers + (2) REL subs for both music and TV/Moviesā¦ā¦..Itās awesome!
@fro look at the Gryphon Diablo 300 versus BHK 300 thread
That has to be a fantastic combo!!!
Whereās Waldo? Remember you sold me the white version. Look closer ![]()
I do listen through them with a toslimk from the tv to the Dac. I have a large screen and projector that I can set up in front of the large window between the speakers. Need to figure out how to transmit the digital signal from the display about 20ft to the DAC.
Fooled me. I was looking for a floor/corner location for the C214ās. They look good elevated on the album walls. I have mine elevated as well.
Someone doesnāt like the look of subs! Are those audiophile yoga blocks separating the speaker cables? Lol
Yoga blocks are handy for many audio uses ![]()
