Any readers here? Whatcha reading right now?

A book my Uncle Jack’s ex-wife just released. It’s a rather depressing read at the moment (health crisis, then long successful recovery–I hope the latter part is more uplifting!) She’ll alway be my Aunt Bonnie. . . I really feel for her, I was told/knew nothing of this before.

The entire Robot series is a thoroughly enjoyable read. Well written, not littered with overwrought scientific jargon and, very technologically and socially prescient in many ways.

If memory serves, didn’t he tie the Robot and Foundation series together in one of his last novels?

To be honest, I don’t remember. It’s been a while since I’d read the entire Foundation series. I do remember that they are interlinked in a manner of speaking; but as to the exact details, they elude me. My favorite chapters in the Foundation series were those involving the “Mule”. A really well constructed storyline that never once bored me.

I’m not sure either but for some reason I associate Daneel Olivaw having something to do with the Second Foundation, but it has been a long time.

It’s been nearing fifty years since I read the trilogy, don’t remember too many specifics. BUT I have really been enjoying the Apple TV+ adaptation:

I caught maybe a half dozen episodes during a “free week” on Comcast because I don’t subscribe to Apple TV-. The word “loosely” described what I saw versus what I remember from the first Foundation novel. That having been said, I did enjoy it nevertheless.

I’ve read every Annie Jacobsen book and I’ve yet to find one I could put down in a reasonable manner.

This one’s gotten a lot of press reviews since its release. There are a few things as far as plot development that could have been better developed but it’s an interesting and thought provoking read nonetheless. My wife gives it a thumbs up as well.
