Why do so many purchase speakers costing significantly more than Aspens?

Some are much better, though to me none are a better value…

I tried to find your picture of the future FR50, with two bass columns and two treble midrange columns. I cannot find it but it will be my ultimate speakers.
Just purchase a pair of Kii 3 speakers and forget about it.
Would make the integrated amp Donald just purchased, the Diablo 333, obsolete, lol.
I will never tell my wife such speakers existed. She will be happy to see me stopped tweaking, among other stupid things I do to my system.

no one knows how FR30 compares in SQ to the other big players?
With the FR20 & FR30, and if your gear is at a level where you are getting the best possible, or close to the best possible sound quality out of the speakers, I can let you know firsthand, that I have no desire to buy other speakers, and I have heard the big Wilsons, Estelon Extremes, mbl extremes, the newest into ribbon speakers from Altec Lansing. The tonal balance, openness, imaging, realism are quite satisfying. The only improvements for me would be along the lines of cables and another subwoofer to get just a little a little more out of the FR20’s. And if gear failed and can’t be repaired, would replace gear, but speakers? No desire to change.

In the real world, the FR20’s and a pair of subs it totally wonderful…leaves me with no desire to audtion any replacements…though I walked into a dealer a few months ago and they offered to play the new 5 piece $850,000 Sonus Faber speakers with top end D’Agostino and Burmester electronics, ClearAudio turntable in a dedicated room…so if I had 7 figures to spend Absolutely incredible…
