Napa red wines? I’ll go checking next flight to LAX bringing with me one bottle of Chianti and one of Brunello di Montalcino in a robust tank luggage!
Sincerely when I was in Arizona, Utah and Nevada at 100-110-120F a cold white one was preferable but from SF to LA I realized that a more human compliant environment could make a red pleasant, especially during foggy evenings.

At one time we were thinking moving to Henderson, NV (no State tax), but it is hard to beat the weather in Bay Area.

The Dragon HC I just got is also not braided. When I ordered it through TMR they didn’t ask if I wanted it braided. I wonder if they sound different?

I was told the new version went unbraided because it is less rigid (from customer feedbacks). There’s no effect on sound.

I had asked about the cables and I was told they will braid them but didn’t mention if there was an extra cost. My 3 Hurricane cables are not braided. The Hurricane I replaced was.

Robert Harley from TAS seems to be a fan of the Dragon IC’s!

Other than flexibility, is there any advantage to the non-braid version?

The braid looks cool but I prefer working with the non braided.

Braiding shortens the overall cable length! Not sure if braided cables were sold by the final measure, or by pre-braiding measure

Micheal Fremer had a nice write on the Dragon cables- Power, Speaker, and Interconnects. Page 30 of the most recent Stereophile magazine.

That is a nice review. I added @Vmax tuning ring on Dragon Source, and it clears everything even more. I have 3M tuning rings on both Dragon HC and Source and the SQ has elevated again, even at low volume the music note is so clear.

If you are wondering about the break-in time for AudioQuest power cord, I can give some feedback here.

I have my AQ Dragon Source for between three and four weeks. After an initial 70 hours of high-power burn-in, it has been serving DS for the last three weeks. I continue to hear improvement every week, and this week is the first time that I felt the break in is done. I estimated the actual usage is equal to two hundred hours, but if I count idle time, it is obviously a lot longer. Anyway, AQ power cords need a long time to break in for sure.

Has anyone here had experience with cable burners to hasten the burn in process? One of my audio suppliers is an advocate. He reckons there’s even benefit in re-burning in if you haven’t used your kit in a while. Sorry that it’s a bit off-post but related in discussions of break-in time

I use a Watt Box power strip. It has a removeable power cord. I put cable I want to burn in on the inlet and then run my computer rig through the power cord I am burning in. Three monitors, three computers, all sorts of USB, a KVM, etc… I haven’t measured the total power draw, but I usually cook for a week or so. This seems to work. Or at least minimize burn in after plugged into my system.

Great idea for a power cable. Apparently this cable burner burns in audio cables too.

In my experience effect of cable burner can be heard each time cable is treated.

However, even several repeated sessions on burn-in device can’t somehow substitute 3+ years of daily cable usage. And the funny part is, that when you take 3y+ old cable which has been regularly used and perform burn-in on it, you still can hear change for better
So to me it makes sense to burn them again from time to time.

This experience is based on XLO Signature speaker cables and BlueHorizon ProBurn
