AURALiC concerns (hope it is not true)

Is it possible to use Qobuz Connect directly with an Aries 2.1 without the LD Lightning app? I am hoping so. I tried to get Roon but I couldn’t figure out how to get it successfully. For now I’m still using the Lightening app as it still sounds best.

There’s a great deal of Auralic/Roon discussion on Roon’s user forum:

I’m definitely entertaining the idea of switching from Lightning DS to Roon control myself.

Qobuz Connect found my Aries G2.2 and plays. But I prefer Qobuz through the native Lightning app.

Qobuz sounds good through mConnect to Aries G2 as well

Does it provide gapless playback? IME it did not in the Airlens.

It sure does, but the option is in a sub menu that took ages to discover. It’s “gapless” option under the cog in the top left corner

Has anyone heard anything more about the fate of Auralic streamers. Will our streamers continue to work? Any news at all?

Nothing at all. Radio silence. My hope is that in the background they are negotiating a sale of the IP :grimacing:. In the meantime no software updates, I don’t believe Spotify lossless made it in either. I believe with the current mobile app and device software it will run for many more years, but at some point there will be changes e.g. in Quobuz API that will brick it. My G2.2 still sounds amazing for the time being.

Love my Auralic Aries 2.1 streamer/network player.

I’ll just state the obvious….If you have any other piece of stereo gear…speakers/amps etc

It still works in the event the company goes out of business,

On my Auralic…if the software is no longer compatible with my interface/ipad…its useless.

I sure hope Auralic does the right thing to protect us customers who put their trust in Auralic.

It looks like the company completely closed down. Websites are gone, employees let go. There might not be anyone left to do any programming. There might just be the owner and a file folder with source code. My hope is some other brand will buy the IP and revive it, but I estimate that chance as small.

Wow that’s crazy and sad. Great brand.

I agree. A great brand and quality product! My first high end streamer was an Aries G2 and it always played flawlessly! Lightning app or Roon zero issues. Sad to see it just disappear.
