If I was on my own I’d beg one of you guys to let me cover half the cost of your room, assuming you had two beds and could spare one! 
But my wife accompanies me to these things, so I ain’t begging to share nobody’s room while she’s with me! 
The ten minute walk from my hotel will have to do.
