Logged on this morning to see the D-backs have advanced to the WS. The bitter Cubs fan in me says they don’t deserve to be there, but then I remember our September meltdown and, well, figure I should sit down and shut up. As for the ALCS, I’ll root for whoever beats the cheaters, er I mean Astros. I haven’t forgotten …

WS starts Friday! It’s going to be fun seeing how a few of these players handle the biggest stage in baseball. Talking about Carroll, Heim, …

Am I incorrect or is this the first series to be played in parks which can both be enclosed?

Holy Cow Batman! With all the speculation surrounding Bellinger, Stroman etc, resigning guys and testing the FA market … I did not see that coming. Wow!

Give it time. But I’d be happy to get Bellinger back! Stroman did the cubs a favor! Thanks for the extra cash off the books!

Ricketts has claimed he’s ready to spend money. Give Belli what he wants. I think if the Cubs are serious about that, Aaron Nola has been rumored to be a target. Go for it. We won’t be missing Stroman.

I agree. Need enough dough so we can attempt to fill more than one gap…

But I did like Stroman and wish him success (pitching in a different division).

Hope springs eternal!

Man, the White Sox are doing their level best to drive me off. As bad as they were last season, Benetti made tuning in worthwhile. I don’t know where they go from here. Nashville, maybe?

Despite being a diehard Cubs loyalist, I’m a Chicago baseball fan first and foremost. It’s beyond my ability to understand why the White Sox organization seems to be doing everything conceivable to alienate its fanbase. Meanwhile, I can’t wait for ticket sales to open for the Cubs 2024 season. I’m chomping at the bit. The MLB scheduling Gods are making us wait until May 3rd for the first head-to-head against the Brew Crew (at Wrigley). I don’t care how expensive tickets will be, I’m there. No idea what’s going to happen when the Brewers bunch sees Counsell in the Cubs dugout. I can guess it’ll be epic.

My brother, and his law firm, were premium White Sox season ticket holders for over 25 years. He punched out!

Well it’s official, boys and girls:

MLB owners unanimously approve A’s move from Oakland - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)

Sad for Oakland, but not surprising. It’s of interest the media is reporting the decision before the MLB is (can’t be found yet at mlb.com).

Jason Benetti is my favorite announcer in all of sports. Condolences.

Wonder what the plan is for the coliseum? Condos?

@brumtech I was surprised by the headline but read the article and it all makes sense. I would have really enjoyed a walkthrough of his stuff.

Like many, I suffer from too much reading about the 1919 Series.

I’ll just leave this here:
