Belden ICONOCLAST Interconnects and Speaker Cabling

Yes, the series II are different by design from the series I speaker cable. It took a lot of changes to get it there, too, but the measurements bear it all out. It works to specification requirements and what those changes technically do. Does it matter?

Now you get to do the fun part…and listen.

They sound so good right off the bat it just makes you want to close your eyes and be swallowed up by the music.

I was listening to an OLD album, Journey’s Greates Hits. I can’t say I’ve heard this album sound so good, A lot is the CWT 1000-40 that allows you to hear everything feeding them. OK, clearly that’s why I bought them! There is a mix hidden hidden in those old albums I’m just now hearing.

I think you will find the same with those speakers.

Yes I keep listening to one album or song and then I think “I’ll bet that one would sound terrific” and that one leads to another.
The speakers are a big part but the Series 2 speaker cables on the top end have added a lot to the playback information presented.

Some of my favorite music but the CD is so “hot” to my ears that I have trouble listening to more than two or three tracks before I have to take a break.

If the new cables can make this CD sound great, I am goin to have to save my pennies…er…dollars and get me a pair. By the way, what iconoclast speaker cable would you recommend for use with a pair of 500 wpc SS mono blocks feeding Anthony Gallo Acoustics Reference 3.1 speakers? (@BobBJC?)

The cable isn’t the entire system, but yes, I have a Pat Benetar CD that is HOT for sure. Better cable does tone it down but in no way does it tear out the basic sound, and you would not want that anyway as it will damage the really good sources.

But, the “bad” is lifted more than the really good to my ear. When I test, I use many terrible sources believe it or not. Pat Benetar’s best of, Best of Hermin’s Hermits, Hootie and the Blowfish and the like. Compressed and hot for sure.

I listen for an expanded sense of dynamics and openness that is missing. Is it better? No different? Worse?

Our cable isn’t magic, it does what it does, and we try to explain it all, and can’t meet everyone’s desires, but we’ve found well made ELECTRICAL designs match closer to what people enjoy so that’s the road we go. It also forces a VALUE as we have to make things to true measure and calculation. We can’t price in the FUD of a new mysterious material and have nothing to show you for it. Copper varients is as far as we go but…we go BACKWARDS to TPC as an affordable option as the designs allows it to sound so good. I use all TPC based speaker cables.

I would try the series II speaker cable and IC as those really pulls out the image specificity lacking in bad recordings. It puts the ROOM back into the music and makes is seem so much more real.

Do use ONLY the series II for ANALOG XLR and RCA. The electrical adjustments are significant on the IC cable for analog. Compare and contrast to the IC series I for confirmation as needed.

Galen

I’ll aspire and plan to do just that.

Thanks.

Pair the series 1& 2 Iconoclast with @Duncan_Taylor Common Ground Cable Whisper Elite and Whispers and Oh My the PRAT. I have been listening to everything from Glenn Miller to Little Eva Locomotion to Keith Urban Texas Time. These cables make you want to Tear It Up. Lol now Earnest Tubb.Waltz Across Texas. So out of my element but loving it!

I thought my system could play anything. It still does with resolution but man try not to sing along and toe tap with stuff I used to call crap. Warms up those Mids and the bass line lights it on fire!! Fireball Pitbull and John Ryan.

I agree with this post. It is one of those you can’t believe it until you hear it. In my system I had to address some power cords too. The non HiFi recordings as well as the great recordings are all jumping out. But my Analog cables are full Iconoclast.

I am listening to “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” in 192/24 which I have listened to in many forms since the vinyl came out back in the day. I know this album very well and today there are low level details that I have never heard before. As they say everything old is new again. It’s unbelievable that changing a piece of wire can uncover so many missing details.

That is a go to song for evaluation of cables. The instrumental Both Sides Now is such a great song.

Of course it has to be, the “right” wire.

A pair of audition OFEs arrived today and were connected about an hour ago (…or is it already two, if you catch my drift). I’m late to class and am catching up on the homework.

I’m like gaga woowoo in love with locking bananas, I think.

Big shout out to Galen and Bob for the really solid work and customer service.

Did you get the bananas at both ends?

Spades on one end. Using the spades on my M1200s atm, but might order those fancy bananas on both ends. They’re just too awesome not to.

They are my favorite.
