I have a 30 second trigger delay set on the preamp before the BHK amp is told to start up (yes, I finally repurchased the pair).
It was working properly, but now the preamp is still flashing for another 15 or so seconds after the amp is running.
I did put different tubes in the preamp. Could that cause the excessive start up time?
Are you keeping the back power switch on or off after listening?
I do, but now that you mention it, power was completely off today as I shut the power conditioner completely off earlier.
I’ll keep an eye on it.

I just checked the manual for the BHK preamp (which I own). It says that there is a 30 second countdown after you press the button on the front to wake up from standby mode. For a long time, the preamp has been taking at least 40 seconds to wake up. At this remove I cannot remember how long it took when it was new. But needing 40+ seconds is similar to what you are experiencing.
I don’t understand your description of the trigger set up. I have set a four second trigger on the preamp, and the amp starts coming out of standby four seconds after the preamp finishes its countdown. I would not expect the trigger to power on any component before the the preamp is ready to go.
In the setup menu you can set a trigger time. I set mine to 30 seconds.
Yes the amp comes out of standby while the preamp is still flashing.

The preamp has a longer wait period before starting the first time after the power has been completely off to the preamp, either from the back switch or a power outage or power conditioner being turned off.

The first time the preamp starts up after a ac power off takes 90 seconds. A normal cycle from standy is 45 seconds.
