I have a BHK Pre that has been working fine for years. All of a sudden the volume indicator does not show up - its totally black. The blue power indicator in the top left is still on and the pre seems to be working fine - I can raise and lower the volume with the remote.
Any ideas? I really hope its an easy fix that I can do from home, but I am skeptical.

When you initialize it, does the screen show the usual warmup countdown? In other words, when starting from a power off situation, does the screen show any activity?
No - its totally black
Too bad. Sounds like a service department issue. Let’s hope it is something they can troubleshoot with you vs having to send it in! Perhaps another forum member has experience with this who can help. Keep us posted.
The only thing I can think of is make sure the “Dim” button at the upper right of the remote is not stuck in a pressed in position.
And check if pressing the “On” button at the upper left of the remote will light up the display.
The “On” and “Dim” buttons on the remote are for the display.
Customer support may be able to troubleshoot the problem of the phone, send you a new PCB or display, which you could replace yourself.
