Yesterday when I turned on the pre here was a strange line on the screen when it was powered off and the display came on upside down. There was a little dithering (for lack of a better word) and it flickered a bit. But today it’s just off. Dead.
Preamp is behaving normally otherwise and, might I add, sounding glorious with the new addition of a dcs Bartok into my system.
What do it do?

I’m guessing you already tried fully powering down and leaving it unplugged for a few min before powering it up again?
That fixed my bhk pre when my display mysteriously disappeared.
Hello! Sorry for the late reply!!
Yes tried all of that. Here is an image. Can anyone guide me as to the way forward?
I have a BHK pre but it’s in storage, so can’t verify this works. Just asked Gemini AI about a maintenance/calibration screen and this is the response…
"The upside-down volume display on the PS Audio BHK Signature Preamplifier isn’t actually a maintenance error or a hardware failure; it is a built-in feature designed for users who choose to mount the unit upside down or in specific rack configurations.
There is no “hidden” screen mode to fix this. You can flip the display back to normal using the standard setup menu:
How to Invert the Display
- Enter the Setup Menu: Press the Setup button on the front panel (or use the remote).
- Navigate to “Display”: Use the volume knob to scroll through the menu options until you see the Display or Invert setting.
- Toggle the Orientation: Change the setting from Inverted to Normal.
- Exit: Press the Setup button again to save the change and return to the main screen."
