Thanks, David. I did not know about this site. =D>
BIS recordings are often excellent, and they work hard to bring interesting music out.
The suzuki bach stuff is really excellent- widely regarded as the best overall set. At these prices then I would definitely not pass up the chance to buy at least their mass in b minor. (The only reason for hesitating is that there is a chance that the complete bach set will come out soon, but I doubt it will be cheap and unless you are likely to want to spring for dozens of cds in one go I’d say dip your toe in the water now)…
Masaaki Suzuki’s recordings of Bach are superb, both in performance and sound.
There was already a set of the Cantatas then to date a year or two ago, as well as partial sets. As Bis’ prices are always good I do not expect any large price drop.
The Beethoven symphonies with the Minnesota Orchestra and Osmo Vänskä are spectacular. The Sibelius symphonies by these performers are also superbly rated. I have less of an opinion, even though I have performed a couple of them, as I am not a big Sibelius fan.
