Bridge 2 suddenly skipping to different songs

I have a Directstream DAC Mk1 with the Bridge 2 stream board. I have come to accept that if I put in on pause, then after a fashion put it back on play, it will play the paused track from where I paused it, but only for a short while then will skip to the next track. I’ve accepted this.

Recently, however, random jumps to other tracks on the recording are happening quite frequently. I have updated to the current Mconnect control app without resolution. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Thanks, and happy listening.

My DirectStream DAC Mk1 with Bridge 2 skipping issue is a little different but also frustrating. I stream Qobuz. On some albums, at the end of a track, maybe once or twice in ten tracks, when it gets to approximately 4 seconds from the end of the track, the time control skips a second or so. Occasionally a track will skip half way through to the end. Particularly annoying as I enjoy piano music and would like to peacefully enjoy the long fade to silence, which is typical at the end of most of Chopin’s works for example. To my knowledge Chopin never wrote a piece with a hiccup at the end! This is with the Mcontrol app. Since ConversDigital make both the MControl software and also the Bridge2 hardware, you might think they could bug fix it.

When it works correctly, the ConversDigital App/renderer combo sound quality is excellent.

I just began a trial of Roon. Guess what, Roon plays smoothly with no hiccups. But unfortunately in my set up (PS Audio BHK pre/BHK 300 Monoblocks), the SQ is not as good streaming Roon. Since I am just trying Roon out, I am using a Windows laptop as the Roon server, and have no idea if that impacts quality. I’ve turned off all the Roon processing filters etc, as recommended elsewhere.

You might try a Roon 14 Day free trial to see if this solution works for you.

These days my CD collection acts as sidewall sound diffusion. I stream all my music on Qobuz. I’m considering an Airlens trial to see if that solves the issue. I understand the AL is still using a ConversDigital renderer but maybe has a better interface.

Not sure if I am experiencing the same problem, but here’s what’s happening. I have DS Mk II and AirLens controlled by MControl app. When listening to an album on Qobuz everything is fine, then without warning the track ends prematurely. Very jarring. A few seconds later the next track starts playing. This might happen once or less often, twice per album. No idea if the problem is MControl, Qobuz, or my network. I’m hoping that Qobuz will finally release the “Connect” version where control is handed off from MConnect to the Qobuz app. This should help narrow down where the problem lies.

This abrupt track ending sounds similar. Seems like maybe a buffering issue. Especially given that I have no issue using Roon vs MControl, and assuming Roon is buffering on the core SSD.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. My experience is the same as BuzzB. Frustrating, but tolerable though it is fairly recent so would hope for a bug fix in MControl.

UPDATE: There is an MControl update that is also fairly recent. I’ll see what happens tonight.
