With modest computer software skills, Roon set up is easy. As long as Roon identifies the Bridge, set up is straight forward. Installing the Bridge and Roon software I was enjoying music within an hour…
Thanks let us know what optical isolation product you use and what difference you notice.
I did install Roon and it sure gets the prize for ease of setup and use. I can detect a change in sound compared to Bubble UPnP connected directly to OneDrive and streaming to Bridge II. Definitely prefer Bubble to Roon.
I am still in the BreakIn Hell period of the DirectStream so all true comparisons will have to wait a couple of weeks.

I’m trying to use the Mconnect app streaming Qobuz to DSJr. Problem is, unlike with Tidal, I can’t find any search button/box. Pretty hard to browse tens of thousands of recordings. Am I missing something?
In the meantime, I do have Roon, so I’m not completely socked out.
Thanks!
Once logged in Qobuz tap the ‘three horizontal dashes’ button, from there you find Search / Discover / Playlists / Favorites / Purchases / Settings
Thanks for the advice. I’m not in a position to try it at the moment, but will tonight. I was pretty sure I had tapped and examined every part of the UI for anything that said search or resembled a magnifying glass, but could have missed it.
Since the last reply on Feb. 4th, 2019 is anyone having success playing Qobuz directly to Bridge II? I recently signed up for 30 day Qobuz trial and have had no success streaming to the Bridge. Qubuz recognized the Bridge as a DLNA device, but does not play to it.
Qobuz support said that DLNA and Bridge II are not available yet on PC platform. He recommended I get Audirvana and stream Qobuz from there.
So I got a trial of Audirvana and tried Qobuz from there and that failed too. Audirvana recogized DS SR as well and the song I select shows up as playing but nothing happens. The elapsed time doesn’t move and the play/pause/stop buttons are not useable.
Is anyone having success using Windows 10? If so, is there a certain way that Qobuz needs to be set up to play via Audirvana?
You stream Qobuz from inside the Mcontrol app if you are using the Bridge II. If you are using an external source you would have to use one of the other connection methods. From inside the Bridge II’s dedicated app it plays flawlessly.
I can play Qobuz music to the Bridge II using MConnect Lite. But I was hoping to play direct from Qobuz on my desktop. I also would have liked playing from Audirvana from my desktop. I have been using JRiver 25 for my personal music files streaming to the Bridge II via DLNA, and JRiver doesn’t offer Qobuz, but I like the layout and operation of Audirvana. It would have been nice.
What is the Bridge II dedicated app?
Thanks for replying.
Mcontrol HD if you are using an iPad. The only way to stream to the Directstream or any other DAC from your desktop using the Qobuz app is by way of a direct USB cable. Kind of defeats the purpose of owning the Bridge II.
Try Roon?
I run JRMC for my files and Roon with Qobuz and Tidal subscriptions.
Roon is pretty nifty with Qobuz and/or Tidal.
Unless you have to purchase extra hardware to run it.
???
I don’t follow.
You have to have a machine to run Roon on that is capable on supporting all of it’s features. A lot of people just getting into streaming by buying the Bridge II or other similar device don’t own the hardware needed or a Roon license so extra un-needed expense. While Mcontrol may not be as “slick” as Roon or have the AllMusic website attached to it it does in fact work well after all the updates if you take a bit to learn it. Plus it’s free.
OK, but @audiojerry did mention he was working with a desktop.
Desktop app was all I understood so don’t know if he is using a desktop machine or a laptop. If I was getting into streaming again and had nothing but a laptop instead of buying the Bridge II I would buy the device that Al is using, the Euphony PTS Music Server. Full service streamer with the ability to switch between it’s native Stylus software or Roon, HQ Player, or SqueezeLite plus a bonus of 1 tb SSD on board.
Cool kit. Lots of server and DAC options these days…great time to be in this hobby…
I keep considering trying it just out of curiosity but the Aries G1 is doing fine as is and beats the Bridge II.
Can’t do much better than the G1 or G2.
Pricey options being mentioned. I’d rather spend the $$$ on acquiring used cd’s and ripping them to my hdd. The sound quality when streamed to the Bridge is just so good.
I was only considering Qobuz for DLNA streaming as a means to discover new music.
The Mconnect player full version I just purchased for $5.95 on my android works good enough for that. I just wish JRiver opened itself up to Qobuz, or Qobuz got its act together with the Bridge II.
