Thanks Denise. Good to know. I wonder if Dave Elias realizes that this supposedly MQA formatted file doesn’t translate . . .

Dennis, I sincerely apologize for calling you Denise.

Dennis, I sincerely apologize for calling you Denise.

Since I am no longer employed by PS Audio I guess it does not matter.

Uh … no longer employed by PS Audio? Dennis, please explain!

I wish I could, nobody told me until this morning , I was blindsided and out the door.

Dennis

Jeeze. That sucks!

Ouch! So sorry to hear this, you have been a real asset to the folks here and you will be missed! Best of luck for the future!

Got 3.3.3 ok but on mconnectHD the HiFI/MQA button shows but I can’t switch to it, only Normal plays. Do I have the wrong app ?

Hello rogerdn,

Make sure that you are using the mControl app and not mConnect. We recommend following this tutorial and selecting TIDAL masters:

If you continue to have trouble please contact us at service@psaudio.com

Thanks,

Jeremy

…If MQA detection is flaky, one might see if the 192k/sec bit perfect test works thru the same software.

No flaky MQA detection over here but still wondering if the Bridge indeed and always completely unfolds MQA up to 24/192.

Played a local stored MQA file straight from my Melco using mconnect Control HD which fully unfolded should be 24/352.8 ;

In this case the Bridge unfolds up to 24/176

Since I am not a Tidal user yet (thinking about it), I would like to download a MQA file to play it through J. River just to test it out.

I listen to mostly rock and pop and some country. Any suggestions where I could find some music to download?

I went to the Onkyo music site and found high res downloads, but could not find MQA downloads. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to find MQA on this site?

I tried to download some music from Norway’s 2L, but could not get MQA to light up. I know, not exactly my type of music, but just trying to test things.

Puzzled indeed! More than likely this is not something that will be enlightened with in a public forum.

I’m not a bridge user and I don’t know the in’s and out’s of all of the options that people might use to drive it, but I wonder if there are some paths to the bridge that have volume control, replay gain, or other DSP in them that people aren’t used to checking? (I know there are in JRiver, but I don’t know if people use JRiver for MQA sources.) If so that would (presumably) destroy the MQA flags and cause anything downstream to not recognize the MQAness. (Or if things don’t need to be bit perfect for MQA to work there’s still probably some level of volume or processing that would at least cause things to be flaky.) If MQA detection is flaky, one might see if the 192k/sec bit perfect test works thru the same software.

Like I said it works on some and not others/ It would seem strange to me if the volume control was mucked up on some and not others - nothing has changed.

Still - who knows - strange things happen.

Cant make it to my dealers today - maybe tomorrow.

Will try various things - if that fails will contact support and get my dealer to contact the local distributor Magenta.

The other thing that occurs to me is the power of the device Mconnect Control runs on - maybe if its too slow something can go wrong. My dealer has a quite powerful Iphone and will see how that panns out - his Ipad is an early one and its slow as all wet water, plus my Android Phone is rather slow as well.

I am still confident in the end it will be sorted out.

Thanks

Bill

Probably not.

Dennis, you were a real adornment to this forum helping me and many others with issues - you will be missed.

If it’s any consolation I have even seen it happen to public servants - it was illegal for them - but they still did it. It happens all the time in private enterprise - I know tons of people it happened to - so best of luck with your future and everything works out well.

Thanks

Bill

+1. Just a couple weeks ago he got my recalcitrant Bridge update to work. All the hard work and dedication to customers over the years is greatly appreciated and I wish him all the best.

Dennis I wish you the best. First Saramucci, now you…is there an end to this!!

Hi Dennis, very sorry to hear this news; thanks again for all your help and best of luck!

gocubs42 - as far as I know, Dennis hasn’t been coming on public Forums calling his coworkers cock-blockers and so forth… ; )

Scaramucci, Scaramucci!

Scaramucci, Figaro…

The Pres-i-dent has a Devil set aside for me, for me, for meeeee!!

(head bobbing ensues) music-078_gif

Going OT here…

Badbeef! Ga Blamma Damma!

Now I've got that song stuck in my head! And it's one of those songs that STICKS too. Probably be there all day...

That was a cruel joke. ;-)

Back to our topic du jour…

Hi All

Further update.

Someone with a DSJ tried the ones that didn’t work for me and it worked fine.

Strange - very strange.

Tomorrow heading to dealer and will try the things recommended here and maybe other stuff i can think of - will report my findings.

Thanks

Bill
