Cable Synergy?

Makes sense!

That wisdom could apply to most threads here past, present and future.

Sage advice. Electronics are good. Talked off a cliff. Audioholics (not so) Anonymous

But new speakers…hmmmm

LOL

If Balanced is available, choose it. If not, no big deal. I use both. Sometimes when i don’t have to. In my system right now I have an unbalanced pair of <$1000 AntiCable cables between my Phono Preamp and Bacch thingy. Once I had that connection and the Sakra V17 Balanced connection. Switching between them I couldn’t detect a difference. Hmmm.

Is that the magic of Baach?

Holy Crap Al. My entire system costs less than your one phono cable!

Your whole system costs less than One Thousand dollars?

In my experience, cables are essential components, and most often deliver component level improvements in the context of my now well into the low six-figures system.

I happen to be a Synergistic fan-boi, and for good reason. They definitely have a “house sound” which works for me, characterized by an extremely low noise floor, detailed and extended bass, a huge and well-defined soundstage, great clarity, and a nicely uniform tonal balance.

In my experience–and it initially surprised me–more and better cables from well established manufacturers tend to be additive and consistent in their effects, and yes, in fact, are synergistic (with a small s), so you might want to avoid “cable stew” in your system as SR’s apparently controversial Lead Designer is wont to say.

Most, but not all, of my cables were purchased used, and each upgrade has consistently delivered significant improvements in these and other areas. Also, within a given SR cable family (mine are now mostly Atmosphere SX Euphoria series), the newer iterations always sound better than their predecessors.

As always, YMMV…

That’s a great price for the Omega QR-s…Mike Farnsworth is a straight up guy to deal with! I bought a pair of his Talon Khourus X Series 2 loudspeakers many many years ago. Used them as my reference for around 10 years.

I wanted to buy the Omega ABS cable that he was selling, but he sold it already by the time I submitted an offer for the full asking price. I do not have a device that I can use right now, but the price was too good. I will sell my Omega USB cable soon, but I cannot sell it at his asking price.

It occurs to me that I might have a thing for cables. Weird.

A more than fair price.

Especially in a 2.5 meter length! Would be $8200.00…instead of $7500.00 in a 2 meter length…
