Countertenors

#1

Countertenors are not to everyone’s liking, but I appreciate what they can do and sometimes the combination of the voice and the music specifically written for it can be amazing. My secretary at work (same one who found out about the da Vinci invention that was recently built and played that I posted a few weeks back) found out about Phillipe Jaroussky and has sent me a couple of links that are worth sharing. The second of the two I thought was spectacular. Hope many of you enjoy:

He is very good.

I have been most impressed with Andreas Scholl.

It is fun that there has been such a resurgence. But I doubt we will soon see a return of castrati.
