I am new in this forum and eager to learn from you guys
I set same DNS for both my Bridge & PC so they can “see” each other easily in the network and found it sounded much much better than connecting them to a switch.
Of course I have to sacrifice some conveniences because no cover arts appear in touch screen, no online streaming music but anyway still remotely control my PC via a wifi dongle. In the other side, I saved some bucks this way because no need to buy a hiend switch, no control PC or NAS, no LAN cable surrounding my house, just a simple desktop PC can do the job.
I am curiously if anyone here doing the same way and share your thoughts?

Cover-art should work no matter how you are connected, DHCP or Static IP. Do you have your SD-card in?
Static IP. No, my SD card is for updating firmware only.
If you are streaming via a switch/router, try one time to bypass them and connect your PC to the Bridge directly you will see how music touching your soul. Something like a veil was lifted up.
This is a PWD Mk2 of my friend, he modded it and followed me, result is so good as well as saving $$$$ for another project.
Thanks for the info. I don’t know about putting a blank SD card for cover art showing up, will format my SD card at office and try it at home later.
Frankly speaking that my friend & I did not satisfy with the sound of the stock PWD MK1 & 2. That’s why we use 3 dedicated power supplies for different boards (digital, analogue, bridge). Also replace stock caps by Audionote Kansei, Mundorft, Cerafine caps. Lastly, two fuses of Furutech 1A & SR Quantum Black (4A) were put in their right positions.
How do they sound? I may say mine (PWD MK1) now sounds very good with more air, gorgeous spacious, clearer, and very musical. Anyway I still envy with my friend who has the same mods to his MK2. The mods really brought his PWD MK2 to extremely high level that can comparing with Directstream Dac, I don’t want to say it’s better than Directstream Dac in mid-low and liquidity of sound reproduction.
I will share with you guys how & when I found interesting of direct connecting DAC & PC via LAN cable in the next post.
Sorry for my bad English because I am not a native one.

Now, it is perfect ! Thank Mr Thanh Phan in SaiGon - VietNam !

can you post more detail about your updates, specifically what voltages did you need for the three boards.
Can you post exact specification for the Caps you used along with a large picture of the caps that were replaced.
Thanks Mr. Thanhnos2112. You’re the man and we all appreciate your works! Total cost of the mod apprx. $500 and 4hours are so cheap for the improvement of SQ
Thanks to PS Audio team who built excellent and D.I.Y-friendly products
@ magiocknow:
Mr. Thanhnos2112 has showed you the links containing all specs but I suggest you to measure at the end connectors of the stock transformers to ensure current & voltage (my area is 230volt) before ordering.
BTW, PS Audio DAC is designed like a Lego game so we will see no difficult when something went wrong: just replace it and the rest still work. Very smart! Thanks to PS Audio team again!
I wish to invite you guys to my house for audition but guess you guys too far from Saigon, Vietnam. If you come here remember to visit me
Here is my upload on Youtube after modding. Sorry for some noises I can’t remove…
Connecting the Pc to the Bridge with Rj45 cable is the best sound quality. However, Foobar or Jriver does not support Direct Play Tidal to Bridge but must be through a router or switch. But when connecting Pc/Pda to router/switch to Bridge, the sound quality is only 7/10 compared to direct connection from Pc to bridge (I used Psu linenear for router)
I want Jriver / Foobar play Tidal from Pc directly to Bridge, how to setup?
We look forward to receiving the help of PWD fans and the support of the producers (Dennis help me)
What quality router do you have? It may be one supplied by your phone/internet company who are not known for caring about audio quality. It’s good that you already a LPS on it.
Is the router close to the stereo? (Ideally not, but whether this affects sound quality depends partly on how well shielded the router and the ethernet cables are.)
What kind of cable are you using? I’m not saying that you have to go buy an expensive audiophile cable (although some of us have ), but the shielding at least can be important. So try a higher-level cable (cat6 or 7) if you have cat5.
One thing to try that doesn’t cost a great deal is to create an ad-hoc network. Buy a good quality switch (metal housing but not necessarily expensive) and hook everything up without connecting the switch to the router. See how that sounds. It may not help much if you have a noisy router close to the stereo. Get a LPS for the switch; this can matter, as I have heard in my own system. Jameco has some that are inexpensive but that users here have reported good results with. Of course, your Bridge won’t download album art if it’s not connected to the internet (art stored inside your audio files should still display) but it’s nonetheless a useful test.
Some people here have reported good results by galvanically isolating the Bridge/DAC using fiber optic converters. I have not tried this myself, but you can locate the threads here; search for “galvanic isolation” or “fiber optic.” It’s not that expensive but does require yet another little power supply.
Previously, I connected PSA Bridge in the most basic way is to plug in the Router, Pc also plugged into the online (BubbleUPnP+Tidal) and offline (Pc + foobar upnp) play the same sound (if the same file format 24/96 ) I think “This is the best sound” I used Rj45 cable AudioQuest Forest cat7.
Then, I try to connect direct Rj45 from Pc (foobar + upnp) to Bridge, then the sound is better (much better than Bridge & Pc connected to router) and do not return to plug in Bridge to the Router anymore.
Almost, soft player support streaming Tidal music is supported only by the USB output, but the USB output can not be equal the UPnP output.
