When will there be either a printed guide or a video on how to do the install? I have a kit coming from the first batch and I’d enjoy studying up so I get it done right the first time!
So you’ll be one of the first ones who could tell us how to install the kits
Ha! First person to blow one up maybe…

I shouldn't worry too much. I mean, it's only a few boards and a xformer which should fit in the same holes as before ...
Also don't worry about blowing up. In the movies it's always a case of "is it the blue wire or the red to cut" and the hero never gets it wrong :)
I was told that I was the first person to order one of the kits. so maybe I can be the first to blow up one. Maybe we can make a contest out of it to see who can be first. And the winner gets a new kit! Anyway, I am not worried about the kit. I did the PWD MKII kit and it was not difficult. I anticipate that this kit will be easier to do than that one since it had a few delicate connections to make during the install. I do not think the DS kit will have that.

I did the MKII also and it was simple…It’d just be nice to see some directions (with pictures) ahead of time…
Paul said he’d send me the instructions to review before he sent out the kits. So far I haven’t seen anything, but I think they’re busy getting the completed units out the door. I’ll let you guys know when I see the preliminary instructions.

Thanks!
How about a CONTEST for the BEST video of the COMPLETE installation process.
I can set up a thread for it and you can post a link to a youtube video or I can help or post it for you.
I WILL PERSONALLY OFFER A FREE DSD ALBUM TO THE CONTEST WINNER.
THE CRITERIA COULD BE THE “MOST PROFESSIONAL” [not necessarily dry and requiring prunes] and THE ONE that gets picked as the “forum” favorite.
WADDYA THINK?
Contest could be fun!

Sure thing I’m game…Oh wait I need a KIT… [-O<
Guys what are you going to do with the remains of the old PWD2? I hope for interesting DIY ideas would be here…
It would make a Great Xmas gift for MK1 owners.

@Gordon
Great! Are you ready for adoption? ;)
Mine is ear marked for a buddy of mine who loves music but unable to afford something better than the -$1000.00 3in1 system, so I’m giving a Quad 909 amp, and DAC, he will be in music heaven after hooking that up
I’d like to find a buyer for my MKII board… It’s gotta be worth a few hundred?

I’m hoping that I can find someone with an old MKI for sale somewhere down the road. Not sure how many of those are out there anymore, though.
In the FYI department, I just reviewed the early draft of the installation instructions and gave comments back to Paul. It is going to be a bit more work than the MkII, so be patient. Read all instructions first (several times if you have to) and make sure you do the Bridge update to 2.15 or later FIRST before you disassemble the MkI/MkII, otherwise the update can’t happen after you convert to the DS.
My only fear is making sure everyone keeps the metric screws separate from the 4-40/6-32’s. There is a picture up front that identifies every part included in the kit, so take the time to ensure everything is there and to label the screws so you know where to put them when the instructions call for them.
That said, it should be fun for those of you who like this sort of thing!

I saw one on Audiogon the other day… they were asking $1100.00 for it…

You are saying the DS will not update the Bridge, Why is that ?
