DSD 256 playing as 44kHz/16 bit on DS MkI through Air Lens on I2S

Just downloaded Otis Taylor-Hey Joe Opus Red Meat-DSD 256 (OCT0003) to my computer, unzipped, then copied to my NAS. When I send through ethernet to my Air Lens and then to DS MK1 through I2S, I hear nothing and the DS tells me the track is playing at 44 kHz/16 bit. Interestingly, I downloaded, unzipped and copied Bill Kopper-Ancient Rhythms-DSD 256 (OCT0023) at the same time, and this plays well on my DS Mk1 at DSD 256 raw. Any advice?

Should be the same…as you suspect. I’ll have a look on Monday to make sure everything’s ok with that file. Sorry for any headaches.

I have DSD 256 sampler that simply won’t play through my mk1, thought it only played up to 128… have it on my Innuous

DSD256 can only be played through I2S to the MK1 with Sunlight firmware update.

Thanks, but that’s not it. I have Sunlight installed already.

That has happened to me before. It was bad files. Paul afterwards gave me the good files and the new files worked without any more problems.

mahalo, will double check on the Sunlight update - am using an I2S
