ENO/MUON Ethernet Filters for Streaming Audio

I switched my MUON Pro back to backwards. Then I started spinning vinyl. But now I am streaming what I played on vinyl. Sigh. Poor planning on my part. Streaming vs. vinyl, no contest. Not even close.

Whew, listening to music I didn’t just play on vinyl is enjoyable. I inserted an M-2 fuse in each ear.
Ahhhhhhhh.

I’ll be able to test it myself soon. It looks like my last 3 orders are neck and neck. My inbox with messages announcing the shipments is quite confusing. Maybe the difference in sound could be due to the short cable on the muon pro? Even NA writes one thing about its cables A certain length increases the sound quality. This is probably due to the wave resistance of a cable. If the cable is too short, the signal will likely be reflected in the cable. I didn’t think of that when I ordered otherwise I would have asked if the fixed connection cable could be made longer. Maybe 1 to 1.5 meters. Has NA already checked this option to see if it makes a difference? For other cables, whether power or connecting cables, a minimum length is also recommended. Gallen could perhaps also tell us something about the optimal length and sensitivity to interference of a cable?

For $265 you could get a M2 fuse for the MU2. Will it sound better than vinyl? No. Will it sound closer or better? My guess is yes.

Plugging fuses into my ears did not work other than giving me a headache. But if you tape an M2 fuse to the side of the turntable it will make it sound closer to MU-2.

Regarding fuses, they all sound bad. My imagination is slowly running away with me. Because I want to improve my streaming chain and a Dragon source power cable for my switch power supply is on the way. Was it Paul who said there was no advantage to it? I’m curious. The muon pro is also on the way. Now I had doubts as to whether a Dragon wasn’t overkill for my current, beloved Sbooster power supply. Someone recommended that I use a Farad 3 power supply. It’s supposed to be an improvement on mine. Is the difference worth it? Last night I was on Farad’s website. One can add some updates for the Farad 3. Also better fuses. When I put everything together in the configurator, I saw that Farad had a new power supply in its range. It looks like it’s the summit of Mount Everest.:face_with_monocle: This more than does justice to the Dragon power cable. It no longer uses a sound-damaging fuse in the next expansion stage. It has an electronic fuse. It monitors the DC output voltage and regulates it precisely. It has Furutech’s best connection. The only option is various DC cables. The top model made of silver, not cheap, but I think the power supply couldn’t be more perfect. Since different power supplies and fuses make a significant difference to my Switch, I can hardly imagine how this super power supply breathes life into the music. I think the switch could then do without a power zone. Maybe it would be great too, the rest would benefit from it. But the power supply would probably emit little or no interference to the other components. I have a great desire to find out. :see_no_evil::grimacing:
From the looks of it it also has a separate connection for a ground box. Oh the rabbit hole is so big.

It is time for you to try a SDFB, it will improve SQ over any fuse. The only issue is that the pigtail SQ matters as much as the sluggo inside the component. But you like to play with plugs, so replace them with a set of Furutech NCF then you will get a component like upgrade. Also, in my system the sluggos work better with P15 more than sources such as MU2.

One time I plugged Dragon HC into LHY SW-10 and the SQ improvement was very nice. But a Nordost knockoff with Furutech I50 NCF (real) plugs made 95% of what Dragon did. That is more appropriate in cost ration I figured.

I found a great source for authentic Furutech NCF plugs, and it is from Dave of ZenWave. Because I am a past customer, I get a good discount. Another source is The Cable Co. with their frequent buyer program. There are too many fakes out there. Do not buy from eBay or Audio mart. Even Amazon one must be careful too. It is impossible to tell the difference from exterior, but only from inside I could tell the difference.

I’ll keep spinning… If the Farad super power supply is so good, maybe it doesn’t need a Dragon and is also happy with a Hurricane power cable. Then I would have two dragon available. I could insert an SDFB or something similar between these to supply my preamplifier streamer combo? This should be a good pigtails.

Well, we reversed the Muon Pro hooking it up directly to the switch and then adding a shielded ethernet cable to it, then connected it to the back of the streamer.

In our system everything sounds better this way (backwards).

I am afraid you will find the power cord would make a difference for PS. I also tried Dragon for the $300 PS for my Orbi sat. Unfortunately, I heard a difference. :face_with_diagonal_mouth: Again, a set of Furutech NCFs eased the pain.

My guess is that a longer fixed cable on the Muon pro, perhaps 1 meter long, would work better. :frowning: I should have asked when I ordered if it could be made longer. :grimacing:

You made me curious and I’ve just reversed the Muon Pro (backwards).

Mmm voices are really breathing, really really breathing! Bass are a little bit less incisive though. I’ll keep it in this direction for a while. Not bad.

Maybe the Ethernet cable’s character tends to make a difference, Pink Faun in my case.

Ops… I returned to the original set up!

Definitely better IMO, more natural, engaging and real presentation. End of my experiment! I’m done.

30 min. was a very short “a while”. Maybe you can leave it overnight to let it run a longer time to find out if it would sound better.

You know, I’m not that kind of guy, my friend!

Luca, I thought you were the patient type of us who could wait 3 months.

3 months of waiting to collect funds for the PowerZone.

30 minutes to let my ears judge.

3 seconds to understand what I’m liking or not.

That’s me!

I like this list, mine is like yours except the 3 seconds is on top (no control on credit card), and 3 months is at bottom.

Try that direction with the Stealth Ethernet cable!

I need the STEALTH between router and switch (longer run), while the Pink Faun is shorter. In my current set up I can’t swap them but I already did this test a few months ago. I think I’m done.

The muon Pro won the race! Even though I ordered it as the last of my orders, it arrived overnight. The first plus point: Fast delivery. High-quality packaging with a handwritten certificate. Wrapped in a fabric bag that feels comfortable. The first notes can already be pleasing. I’m excited to see how this whole thing develops in the next few days.

And I can now take part in your game of connecting from the front or the back.

 Greetings Andreas
