my new policy is to not buy anything until the very end
Sounds like this will be a hit, just as the A6 was-is.
Old timers recommended not buying a first year model ā¦
Why Iāve joined the PS Audio clan. They take time to develop their products, donāt replace with minor upgrades, but support them as long as the hardware would allow. Very few companies do that these days.
I respectfully disagree. Hereās a list I came up without hesitation. I am sure I can come up with many more.

If A6 was as good as people said, why bother to upgrade to A8 ?
'cause itās better?
We do the same thing with software as buggy new versions can bring the business to a standstill. We stay a full year / version behind the current iteration.
Mine is up at the cabin, has they power supply upgrade and gets automatic updates. The only reason I bought it is I wanted to see it. Listening to it is way more fun. Upgrade? Na.
They A8 just makes it a 3 way choice for a new customer. Although the Master Edition is likely dead.
I am seriously impressed with this company. I fear they may start doing high end. Frightening!
I donāt need another preamp or i2s or an upgraded DAC or any of the other changes. The A6 has the features I need. Glad to see introduction of the A8 as it might offer the perfect feature set for some but, for me, A6 is all I need.
just saw this review of the A8
big diffs between it and A6ā¦
- dual power supply (switching for digital side, linear for analog side)
- analog in (can act as a real preamp, i guess)
- added digital in ports
- true i2s out
Surprised it doesnāt also have a headphone amp tho.
The guy said the A6 sounded āflat and boringā and the A8 sounded āmore fun.ā
Canāt wait to see reviews of the A10 when it inevitably comes out right after christmas
And A12 before Easter ā¦

Happy Birthday Baldy!
Happy Birthday my friend!!!
Happy Birthday @Baldy! I hope you are having a fantastic time. You deserve it!
Thanks all.
Like the saying goes if I thought I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself when I was younger.
But with that said most days itās pretty good to be me.
Steve Huff added his rave review and is a.o. comparing to the Rose RS130:
Heās gonna do an AL review shortly too!
Would the A10 cost 4k and better the Rose or even the Statement and how quick would that one enter the market? O well, thereās always the next best thingā¦
Yes, theyāre always the next best thing. And they seem to come more frequently than ever. Itās hard to not be continually swept in to constant updates. Just try to remain objective. Does what you have meet your expectations? Is it a weak link in the chain? If not, maybe itās in your best interest to limit yourself to tweaks on what youāve already paid for.
I think I caught a glimpse of it in the video you just posted.
