In football vernacular. That is a rushed play resulting in a dropped pass. Followed by a fumble without recovery.
Ugh! Boo! Hiss! I too have been screwed over for the last time by FedEx. Although nothing like a scarred XP-30. Unloaded on some unfortunate person on the customer ‘service’ line, making it clear my remarks are really for those in the upper levels of FedEx supposedly listening to recorded service calls. I’m done with them. Everyone running that outfit up to the CEO needs to be pink slipped.
So sad…
It seems the level of service one expects and appreciates has gone the way of the DoDo. I’ve had similar experience with UPS, and possibly am having an issue with the USPS.
Hopefully Pass Labs can repair the case work and that there is no internal damage.
I have no doubt that whatever the damage, Pass will make it right.
FedEx better shape up FAST—my PerfectWave SACD Transport ships today! Four nerve wracking days ahead!
Our local folks are great, the driver is a friendly, plumpish guy with a white beard—Santa like!
That just plain SUCKS.
Pass are as good as it gets with customer service. I know it will leave their factory as new.
But Fedex damaged the preamp. Fedex should pay for the damage. I can’t imagine that they won’t----eventually.
Especially if they packaged it
I hope your optimism is justified, RonP. FedEx is no different than UPS when it comes to expensive claims. Speaking from experience with UPS, these carriers make anything but a chump change claim as hard as imaginable to resolve. They’ll wait out the customer until he drops the claim or simply forgets it before paying out. Best of luck.
Thanks. No way I’ll drop this, no matter how onerous they make the process.
Eventually, I’ll do my “hello–My name is Inigo Montoya, You broke my preamp. Prepare to die”…
Just have your attorney from the law firm Dewey, Cheatam, and Howe contact them. Tell 'em Ray sent 'em.
Still miss those guys
That is unforgivable.
Yeah, still a fan of the Magliozzi (sp) Brothers.
That really sucks. When it comes back it’ll have Pass Labs packaging fortunately.
It’s probably not a bad idea to photograph items before and after packaging and/or before leaving the store from dropping something off to be shipped.
The two regular ladies were off for Christmas holiday. They fit your description minus the beards.
And they are excellent at their jobs.
Our local Fedex drivers are rarely the same person. And unlike the regular UPS driver, they never arrive in uniform, just normal raggy street clothes. If not for the truck, they wouldn’t be believed.
That is despicable and outrageous . I recommend being friendly but firm with FedEx in demanding full compensation – the squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Thanks. I see no reason to let them off the hook.
And Pass have been wonderful, assuring me that I’ll be getting back essentially a new XP-30.
In the meantime, I’ve switched to decaf and increased my exercise routine.
My Perfectwave SACD Transport has spent Tuesday evening through this morning riding around the Denver metro area, courtesy FedEx. Website and customer agents still insist it will be delivered in northern Idaho today, on time.
I’ve asked my wife to shovel off the front lawn so the helicopter can land!
