Waiting for the storm to come. . . we haven’t had much at all so far. Hope we don’t lose power! That’s my biggest fear. I’m stocked up and will deal with the shoveling in shifts. . . just hope to keep the household calm.

Starting off with a nice Eliane Elias cd, “Everything I Love” on Blue Note.

On to

Duke Ellington “Jazz Party in Stereo” Columbia stereo LP

Timeless beauty in these grooves.

We have had about 13" in the last 24 hours, and I’ve attacked it with shovel three times, kept it to an accessible and exit-able status with effort. Actually, I confess it feels good. Now I have earned a break to listen.

Starting off with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers “3 Blind Mice, Volume 1” Blue Note cd

On to

Eddie Condon “Jazz as it Should be Played” Jazzology cd

Bass – Bill Goodall
Clarinet – Tommy Gwaltney
Cornet – Wild Bill Davison
Drums – Frank Marshall
Guitar – Eddie Condon
Narrator – Eddie Condon
Piano – Don Ewell
Trombone – George Brunies

December 1. 1968
Place: Manassas Jazz Festival

Don’t over do it Lon!

I won’t, I’m careful and listen to my body. It’s usually my hands that give out and get me to go inside–even my warmest gloves only hold out so long. Got about four inches since I had reported above, and did another shoveling stint.

Now playing: Joan Armatrading — timeless songwriting, quiet power, and a voice that goes straight to the center. How did I miss this for so long?

We had about fifteen hours without snow! The. snow started back up about an hour ago, and should last through the afternoon and then though we’ll have very cold days we should get a respite for a spell from precipitation.

Got to watch and listen thorugh the downstairs audio/visual system for a while and now I’m in front of the main system upstairs and listeneing to “Pictures of Heath” on Toshiba Super Bit Jazz Classic lp facsimile cd.

Thanks for posting musician, will ad to my 2listen2 playlist for the car, it my discovery playlist, there so much new music to discover here, that I resume a membership with streaming services, also the 3 month free with my new headphone help.

6:33 in the morning, minus 18F in the north, still dark, so Wife, ask to watch a Frasier reboot, after this record!

That’s on my list of great female vocalist recordings. Besides the great sound, her interpretive skills seem far in advance of her years. great album.
