Interesting idea…
This was my first album today…
I have several complete sets of Bach cantatas on CDs. I have been for a few years listening to one at a time each morning.
Excellent choice.
I have two sets of the cantatas.
For me choosing the first listen of the day takes a few minutes of thought. “How do I want to set the morning’s mood?”
Just sat down in front of the “Big Rig” for first time today:
Via Roon/Qobuz…
[Hat Tip: @terzinator]
I have most of the newer things I’ve acquired on my phone, pretty diverse mixture. I normally put it on shuffle and let it do its thing. For me I find that I latch onto tunes and artist a lot quicker. Every next track is a surprise. Always find myself wanting more.
That will wake you up in the morning. Depending on the time and the morning, I may just hit play on the transport and listen to whatever is sitting in there or stream KEXP into the system.
I often will stream WBGO through Roon. It’s one of my favorite Jazz stations.
Today was a most busy day, and music didn’t hit my eardrums until I sat down to dinner at 5. I knew exactly what I wanted (needed?) to hear—given that the day was so far removed from my “retired man of leisure” persona that I have worked so hard to live up to:
I’ll have to check that station out.
After cleaning all my connections and adjusting the absorber tuning rings to @vmax spec., I will play the Octave Records Bach Suites to start, and will add one of the masters’ Volumes SACD later. I am expecting an upgrade in SQ without spending a penny.
How did it work out?
No question these tuning rings work, but it really depends on cables. I think the more expensive cables with better shielding design benefits less, but @vmax likes them a lot on the whisper cables, as well as on AQ Dragon.
The music? The Octave discs never sound better, and even my daughter said there is a “real” improvement.
Not a bad cut on the entire record…!
today was Waltz for Koop
On the best days it’s Nat King Cole
