I have it, bought it before the first one in fact, some years ago; posted listening to it a few weeks ago on the forum.
I ran the air all night, it was really too warm otherwise. Slept well.
Starting off wtih a Kendrick Scott Oracle date, “Conviction” on Concord cd.
This from 13 years ago, it’s taken me a while to grasp this new direction in jazz that flowered in the years since, I feel this is a part of the beginning of that trend.

One of 21 or so digital downloads purchased direct from Dave Rempis. Three From the Vault, Dave Rempis saxophone, Katinka Kleijn - cello, and Lia Kohl - cello. Well recorded October 19, 2025 at Rosehill Cemetery Mayhill Chapel by Bill Harris. This trio in somewhat of a chamber music format.
It seems that local atmospheric conditions will be keeping me in for the better part of the day, as Canadian wildfires and those near Ely Minnesota have created considerable smoke and particulate here. Was out in it yesterday, my eyes started burning within minutes. Visibility yesterday was much less than a quarter mile. The 97F weather the day before didn’t hamper my hiking, but the smoke certainly has.
Still that smoke in the air. . . the smell hits your nose right off and my eyes start tearing in a few minutes. Yesterday at my wife’s urging we followed the advice on the local news and walked Tobi wearing masks. . . felt a little foolish but that may have been a good idea. We may do so again this morning.
I’m starting off with an excellent Blue Note title, Duke Pearson “The Right Touch” which I have enjoyed many years, this time the Blue Note Japan 85th Anniversary UHQCD. There’s a certain sophisticated funkiness to this work that really appeals to me. Great musicians on board as well.

This album has such a rich history with me. I really enjoy listening to the material in this set and find the sound excellent.
Been sometime since I listened to Can’s Tago Mago. Maybe later today. Great album, and the nudge is appreciated.
Still a bit of smoke, and more on the way is predicted. Sigh.
This is quite an interesting disc to start the day: swing, with a bit of a modern edge in arrangement, a bit of a relaxed feel and warm clear sound. Anita O’Day features as well!

Regarding our local AQI, plans have changed as my wife had a sculling rescue/recovery session scheduled for Lake Mendota early this morning and I had planned a hike at the Iola Winter Sports Club, north of Scandinavia. Both cancelled as AQI is varying between 234 and 267.
there are so many in the 30 - 70!
