Edit:
I should add the sound is glorious mono.
Duke Ellington “Indigos” Columbia STEREO LP
I can never get enough of Indigos. Hopefully you are enjoying your return to vinyl.
Yes, I’m enjoying it. I miss the sound of digital though. In my system I think the two are tied in quality, but I listen to and am accustomed to digital far more.
Do you still convert your analog signal to digital?
Yes. I can do both, but running it through the DSD still sounds better than the alternative in my system. I don’t have money for a phono preamp that will beat the NPC, and I’m not likely to for any foreseeable future. And as I have about 50 times more digital discs than LPs (only have about 700 left) it’s not the priority it might be.
Someone in one of my FB groups was just raving this morning about the Impex re-issue of this LP.
No, didn’t know about this artist. Many similarities to Aaron Fraser, especially Too Many Tears.
New release sugguested by Roon, didn’t think too much of it… Turned out to be a brilliant recording if you like strings.
Worth the cost/hassle!
Having just been to Dusty Groove, I have about 60 LPs to pour through with another 8 incoming, but yes this one is on the list.
Initially suggested by DCM, this compilation of Italian film soundtracks is excellent. The best way I can describe it is a stew of Henry Mancini, Lalo Schiffrin, Ennio Morricone, with a dash of Swingle Singers.
Easy to wake up to. Great sounding digital recording.
Ron, I’d strongly suggest following up with jghughes2 listen, Lavandula.
