For LHY SW-10Pro fans

I have my Dac 200 back from T+A and had a chance to listen to a fully optically isolated connection from the SW10-Pro through the optical inputs and usb outputs of the Rose, using the clock from the SW-10, but so far just with Tidal files at 24/96. Compared to what I was listening through, an EtherRegen outputting optically into the Rose, this seems to have much deeper and more solid bass, a stage that is very dense, but with individual instrument decay that seems to go on forever. And with female voices that I am familiar with live, like Sara Bareilles, this seems very close to that live experience.

I don’t think this scratches the surface of this set-up. Can’t wait to feed it some large file DSD. The Dac 200 is certainly one of the better DSD dacs available. Some reviewers have suggested it is merely good with PCM.

A late happy cake day thenšŸ·

LHY SW-10 pro may not be the ā€œbestā€ audiophile switch out there, but it is very effective in improving streaming SQ in my system. I briefly removed it from the system and just relied on Muon Pro System plus a Shunyata Omega ethernet cable. The SQ degradation was very noticeable. It is not a cheap switch, but it costs less than half of a Tempus and other pricier switches out there. Right now, I do not plan to upgrade more on switches in my streaming chain, but newer products will keep showing up so there is really no end to it.

My golf game has improved lately so I will play more including an added round today. After Gryphon D333, my system has finally reached a point where I am quite satisfied. That may have helped my game. :grinning_face:Of course, the new Muon Pro system will show up soon and I already set aside the fund for that. :person_golfing:

Oh enjoying your time with golf (wish I had more time for it again) and good music, and waiting for the new Muon2 to arrive is a fantastic combo!

I have found a very nice and inexpensive upgrade in SQ for my SW-10Pro and Muon2 pro filtering system. Before the LHY I place two DX-ISO ethernet filters (around $80) between router and LHY. Another two I place between my streamer and LHY. Than the LHY connects to the Muon 2 pro which connects to my network player.

Results: more detail, transparent, crisper, and noticably more tonally saturated, dense, thick. I’m very happy. Highly recommended.

You mean the Muon Pro filter?

yes- right before the streamer.

Very interesting… looked up DX and it looks like they sell all manner of RF gear for radio nuts. I’m guessing they built these for radio operators to reduce RFI from network gear. I will have to get a couple pairs to test out! How did you discover them?

IMHO- huge upgrade if placed before the switch- NOT after. Play with the direction of placement as well as it may make a difference.

I have been using them for years. There is a thread on them in ā€œaudiophilelifestyleā€ I think.
