First day in ten years driving home without my 5 pound hound… :disappointed_relieved:
Was a quiet shop and it’s gonna be a lonely house.
Felix, (aka Mr. Stinkerpants) toy rat terrier (ratweiller) 2010 - 2023. I rescued him from a rather dreadful home and we were never apart since 2013. Motorcycle, bicycle, kayak, work, home, bed and soundroom chair. He went everywhere I went.
Goodbye my friend.

I’m So sorry for your loss, @pikpen.

It is always difficult to say goodbye to our furry friends. They hold a special place in our hearts and thoughts, and it is difficult when they are gone. Treasure those fond memories, pout, cry, long for them, but most importantly, remember and celebrate the joy you both had when you were together.

Thanks, I was hoping he’d make it to see my new house - which is built and just awaiting permits. And fate has it, I went into my laundry room tonight and would you believe - there was a rat… He’d a chased that thing down and got him with tail waggin almost to fast to see.

I can never forget - A few years back, he was in his office heated bed (pic above) and this lil old lady came in to my shop (which is next to a mall), she could have been 103 - she literally had blue hair. “I’m just looking for the Walmart - is it around her…” she then spied Fe and snatched him up and began love-mauling him. “Oh…My…Gawd - he is SO cute… You know, if YOU were to walk thru (pointing) THAT mall carrying this dog and pushing a baby in a carriage… (She looks behind to the left, and then to the right) you’d get l@id RIGHT there in the mall!!!” :astonished: :joy:

Condolences, @pikpen. At least you can rest a bit easy knowing (from the looks of these pics) you gave that little rescued pup a heaven on Earth he probably never thought he’d see. If there is a dog hereafter, he’s probably up there thinking “this is heaven? No, that was heaven!” :face_holding_back_tears:

They all have their personalities. How could anyone not love animals?

Kind words Tony, very well said.
People keep saying - “You gave that dog a great life!” - I think it’s the other way around.
Ten years ago I said – “I don‘t want a goddang DOG!” But I took him. He was so damn cute. And he just jumped up onto my lap and managed to dart a stinky tongue right up my nostril faster than I could dodge. “Fine, I’ll take him – FOR A WHILE – until you find him a home…” Those are always the worse ones - aren’t they. I don’t know who rescued who.
It’s true, not pet gets more life long lovin than by the old crank who says “I ain’t keeping him - I don’t want no dang animal…!”

Exception: No pet gets more loving than right after his owner sees an SPCA or abused animals commercial on TV featuring sad skinny injured pets.

I understand. One of our rescued Schipperkes back in the day had come from a home (although we didn’t have proof, just deduction) where he must have been very badly treated by a man. He accepted my wife instantly, but was actually quite defensive - some might say nasty - to me for about 6 months. After a while, once he realized he was with kind folks, he began interacting with me. Soon after that, he rarely left my side. He was a good little fellow. :face_holding_back_tears:

My Spinone Italiano, Francesca, zoning out in the listening room.
Her Uncle, Enzo, is in the other room watching TV.

Here’s my foster cat Elle imitating Nipper. This is my office rig. I just got the Moon integrated and she’s intrigued by the sound of the volume motor and the movement of the led on the knob.

Sorry. This site seems to have trouble about 4 out of five times i try to upload a pic…

Sweet Elle looks like my little Charlie!

BTW, I love that JVC KD-V6 you have there. I would love to have that as my father had one when I was a kid. It’s hard to find one these days in mint shape.

Luckily I do have his even older (1979) JVC KD-A8, which is also in mint shape. It just needs new belts.
