So I just purchased a used p5 online. It has no remote so I was able to get it for a great price. From doing some research online I should be able to use the touch screen to control everything and so I will not need to have a remote. I hope that this is correct.

Yes, between the screen and the web interface you can do everything. Also, many PS Audio remotes include a PowerPlant section of buttons. Finally, PS Audio will sell you a remote if you want one.
