Aesthetix Mimas integrated amp is wonderful.
The Accuphase E-800/E-800S are both exceptional integrated amps, leaving the E series class AB integrated amps in its dust. With the right speakers the E-800 is magical.
Must be heard to be believed.
Classic Silver
Understated black/noir.
Regarding integrated amps, the Viitus RI-100 MkII is a wondeerful sounding unit available in various color schemes. I just do not recommend their phono stage, preferring outboard, or DAC, preferring lower noise floor.
Yeah, I kinda like it too🙂
Vitus look is well suited with my current more modern look of PSA, MU2 and Gryphon. The silver is especially beautiful! Thanks! I will look into it.
There was a MONSTER, and I do mean MONSTER Vitus Class A amp, the size of my subwoofer, that drove the Estelon Extremes offsite during Axpona 2024. That system sounded fantastic.
Their prices are monstrous too! The RI-100 MK2 is only their entry level amp, and it has reached my top-end on two future upgrades already!
This is why I have a used Levinson 534.
Listening in Class A, clean and with good dynamics.
The new Marantz Model 10 is really outstanding.
It was big and sounded good it also had some interesting features. A Monster? Physical size it is about 50% of the Gryphon Apex. That’s a monster the Vitus was smaller than my subwoofer call it fun size.
The Gryphon Apex is the size of 2 or 3 (or 4) monsters. Aren’t your subs bigger than an Apex?
When I hear “fun size” i think of half of 1 small candy bar. The MONSTER Vitus amp is much bigger than “fun size”
It is fun tho!
The Apex is definitely deeper. Overall I think it is bigger. I must investigate now.
They are close. The Apex is deeper my sub is slightly wider and about 6” taller but 1 apex weighs more than both my subs together! That doesn’t surprise me.
I’ve had and enjoyed the Vitus RI-100 Mk II for about four years. It is a wonderful integrated, powerful and detailed with music coming out of dark silent backgrounds. Feeding it is the PSAudio DAC II with the latest software and the PSAudio SACD player and the music coming out in the Aspen 20. A truly wonderful combination.
I find it to be a special mate to the SabrinaX more ore less taming them slightly, ameliorating their tendency to forwardness.
Vinyl is my primary choice, but with digital it is a Jay’s CDT3 Mk3 into a DSD Mk1. I almost pulled the triggef on an upgrade to a DSD Mk2 in December. Reconsidered as it undermines my longterm digital upgrade plan.
I listened to a full T+A stack in Jacksonville at House of Stereo. Where I also demoed a Black box. Impressed by both. Very detailed sounding, no harshness. And that was when he just wheeled the speakers into the room…no tuning.
