Too bad the amp is black. It would be nice to see it without shining a flashlight on it. It’s actually very stylish.
I think it has a lot to do with the machinery playing it back.
Also if the native recording method was DSD and not upsampled it sounds “better” to me.
I also think that downsampling is a much better experience than going the other way but have no scientific data to prove or disprove.
Also room / system / speakers / blah, blah, blah.
Did you end up taking the Estelon’s home?
I don’t like Maggies. There, I’ve said it.
The closest is ugdalf’s photo with the window shades open. I like the looks of the 333 in black.
It is the best color so it makes sense.
Maggie’s do have a unique sound. I have liked them in the past but the two or three pair I heard at AXPONA did not do it for me.
Definitely a presentation one either likes or not.
Ron, you’re hired again. Paul, fired.
Next!
The Bob Carver room with the LRS+ sounded quite nice with classical & jazz from DSD256 in the A8. Sounded blah with their choice of music.
Black audio gear. This is the way.
I’m with Paul, of course!
New silver in the house!
Black is the new silver
Can’t we all just get along?
Henry Ford and Gryphon must think a like.
I own what I like, but curiosity has its benefits.
@weedeewop new amp looks good in silver, Gryphon amp good in black, which is the new silver

The conrad-johnson Premier 11a is most elegant in champagne, I shall miss it as it has served me well.
No Estelon Extremes for me. So far in April my paper losses on the stock market have been extreme. Too much extremes for Al. Fortunately I love my Vivid Spirits.
