Oh no, let’s go. Still, thanks for the offer. I have a PS Audio power station. I’m not a technician but it seems that PS Audio is preparing a new sine wave but grounding problems and proper filtering between the individual sockets were neglected. The progressive takes a broad range of problems and causes into account. The Gryphon powerzone as you read is supposed to help the current flow unhindered and without vibrations. Don’t good power cables with a proper crystal lattice structure do this to some extent? Akiko suppressor/cleaner. The Gryphon is nice and small to fit into the system. That much can’t be installed inside. Furutech also has a massive power distribution that eliminates interference using NCF. When it comes to a purchase like this, I’m also interested in what I get for my money. I already mentioned Kemp Elektronik that they also have power harmonizers there.
There may also be differences in the result depending on the voltage level. At 230V a much lower current flows. Maybe that makes some difference too. The described sound influence of fuses on the other side of the ocean may also be explained. I have often heard and personally experienced that AM fuses in Germany are described as having a dark sound. From the USA, these sound harmonious and the SR are said to sound bright. Greetings Andreas
I just looked for the EMV plug. Alixpress tells me that the product will not be shipped to my country. Am I missing something Donald? I would have liked to have this connected in parallel in front of my PS Audio filter. My Dragon source should arrive in the mail tomorrow. I’m already excited. Greetings Andreas
That is strange, I mean it has European plugs. You want to get it because I just unplugged it, and the SQ turned harsh even with MU 2 in the system. Like I said it is more effective than Puron which sells 5 times over.
I just cannot pass the industrial look of that Progressive thing. I mean, my house power generator looks prettier Does it even sell in US? It is designed to compare to PSA generators it seems. But the look
PZ looks attractive in a mean way, they pass my look test easily!
Can 120V vs 220V systems bring different results?
Gryphon is a Danish company and could have tested the PowerZone (initially) based on EU voltage. What if PZ worked even better with 220V current?
An interesting question for Rune…
My reasoning with the voltage is that we use the same cables but the current flow is almost twice as high in the USA as here. In the car hi-fi area, very thick power cables have to be laid because of the 12 V in order to reduce losses. High-voltage conductors have several KV to carry the electricity over land and keep losses low. And you can hear it humming. What about the noises in ladders? Higher current flow more noise and distortion? Let’s hope Luca that we have the audiophile power out of the wall.
If you find ANY alternative to a Powerzone that accomplishes the same thing, let us know. Once someone gets a Powerzone any interest in that search vanishes.
I am afraid that search is on you. Best of luck!!!
I’m happy for everyone who has it and can enjoy their music better.
As soon as I get the chance to hear a powerzone I will do it.
The Progressive Audio was a clear improvement in this area. If Powerzone can do it just as well or better, that’s all the better given its pleasing appearance.
I find the current idea of whether a higher current flow or voltage has an influence on noise and distortion interesting. These may be disturbances at low input voltages and increased due to higher current flow. This would mean that in the EU we have to struggle less with noise and distortion due to different voltages. And it would be more important these days to eliminate superimposed high-frequency interference.
Greetings Andrew
There are links to videos in this thread that discuss the details of what is going on inside the Powerzone. I prefer to think of it as the magic of Unicorn Horns. Science can be dull with rich rewards.
Plug this in parallel to the Panny and all thoughts of an MU2, or PZ 3.10 will soon fade away, like an old soldier.
And to think they offer a Nordost Odin PC for a low $29.57! Yikes!
A bit light regarding the details, other than possibly new thinking regarding metallurgy.
And Dragon HC power cable for $276
Missed that! I now wonder where they hid the Stealth Sakra, hmmm.
They had Dragon XLR for under $500
A real steal!
Will one of the real Dragon owners get one to compare to the $300 one? I do not have time for this.
Wait, my real AQ Dragon says “Variable Current” not High Current, which is worth $5k extra right there!
Greg @straightwire is looking for a pair of Dragons.
That’s the European model
I know, he asked me a couple of times already. We are at a stalemate because I am thinking he should sell his to me and I will pay 10x AliExpress price too.
I need to wait until he completely turns into a Stealth guy, then he will let Dragon go cheap
