My thoughts exactly.
It’s only another $3K.
But another $3K is a lot of money.
But Rebecca’s birthday dinner last night cost me $420.
hmm–value for money. Let me ponder this…

She was always pointing at a box. She was the top.

The cost is absurd. But it seems fair.

It makes sense not to cut corners with such an investment.
Who knows how much a Hafner module costs, there are two of them in the large one.
This means that two independent lines can supply the system.
There might also be a sound advantage.
But in my case I only have one dedicated line. It’s not just the €3000 or $3000 extra. It requires two connection cables and ideally two dedicated lines.
Greetings Andreas

Al, think about a sumptuous menu (Christmas, Thanksgiving or similar), when at the end of the lunch, after 3 hours spent eating without dignity, a gentle lady appears from the kitchen saying…

…anyone wants the last slice of this or that? Oh guys, it’s just a slice!

I just don’t want you to figure it out after.
But seriously, nobody else has to do this.
I will stop writing about it.

It’s good advice, Al!
I went straight for the P20 when it came out, to replace my P10. Same deal with going for the BHK300s instead of BHK250. If it’s in budget, one won’t regret aiming higher

Didn’t think about that, having just considered that PZ3.10 and PZ3.20 sound both good equally and that the smallest brother is more than enough for my current needs, not to mention the cost of a second PC.

By the time I actually decide to buy a bigger amplifier(s), a new PZ4 or PZ5 or Hafner1 will probably have hit the market.

Anyway thanks for your advice, no one here would even know about the existence of PZ without you!

Calm down.
To create even more confusion. :speak_no_evil:The small power zone for small needs. The large one when two dedicated lines arrive at the same place to be able to separate amplifiers or analog and digital components.

For Luca, the small one is the better choice for beginners.
You did everything right, Luca.
And if you like it, get another one because you have divided your system into two different places in the room with different lines.
Just don’t make any compromises.
Maybe a simple power strip like the one I ordered is enough.
Although for the sake of synergy, prefer two identical parts. And my power strip is only available in silver. So not for black lovers.

I swear I’ll never have pure Class A in my life again, and PZ 3.10 will force me to keep that promise🙂

More importantly, I only need to worry about one future power cord upgrade instead of two.

I know myself. I would always wonder would the 3.20 have been the wiser choice? That’s my problem. My curiosity.

I should have stated that I love my P20 and am sad to see it go, will sell it later to raise cash.

Indeed, which is yet another aspect to my witholding comments until I can get a handle on its benefits, which clearly are there. I purchased based on what I heard at Axpona 2024. Clearly a strong synergy with the Gryphon gear, even when used in conjunction with a lowly generic power cord.
I’m using a most lowly 2.0 M Shunyata 20 amp power cord with the necessary C19 fitting, and like what I hear. Fortunately I had the PC on hand so no great expenditure was required.

One insight I am confident in conveying, after a week and a day of the PZ being continuously energized I found its effect to be chameleon like. Can’t say I am surprised. The first 72 hours were bothersome. No need to delve deeper.

I may be an outlier, ok I am and OUTLIER, the first 72 hour I heard different more than I heard better. I also, knew better than to assign much meaning to what I heard as the break-in process can be unsatisfying with most electronics. My XP-22 a most recent example, and it was lightly broken in.

If you have two 20 amp dedicated lines installed and two 20 amp power cords of sufficient length, then the PZ 3.20 is a great recommendation. For many the capabilites offered by the 3.10 is more than sufficient.

The sound advantage comes in if your system demands more than 20 amp service sans PZ. Then the PZ 3.20 is the best choice.

No need to ask, as while she is asking I have indulged myself.

The first 24 hours I was thrilled to hear more of everything from my system, and for the next two days the system went through a “purple fuse” period for sure. I blamed the ground line, but I was not sure if it was the sole cause. I have removed the ground wire last night, and will see if I hear improvement later (too early in CA).

Time to do my morning walk to see some coyotes.

Rune made a most compelling case at Axpona 2024. I had checked in to hear the Diablo 333, and when he did his magic with the PZ, it was a Whoa moment. If he had a pallet of them available for sale at Axpona, I would have left with one.

In my system instruments and voices seemed unnaturally spotlit, leading edges artificially emphasized, and stridency in the presence region. All part of break-in. A hyped sound, as If I were grabbed by the collar by a priest and told to abide.

I do think this medium benefits from a few visuals.
