How much of a difference does the Schnerzinger Grid Protector really make? Stil haven’t tried it yet but seems I might really give it a go then if worth.
It seems to perfectly mate the PZ, enhancing all its own appreciated qualities without any downside. It adds nothing to color or alter the sound, rather it removes something detrimental like noise, veil and compression.
It seems to boost all the beauty of the PZ, like having a new super PZ or a PZ MK II in the system.
The sense of realism is brought to a new level, never heard before (cliche audiophile terms, be aware!) and the being-there-effect is stunning. Bass are clearer and more refined, textured and rich. Air around voices and instruments is so involving, a lifelike presentation without any artifacts or “hifi” trick.
The musical message becomes vibrant, in a way it can be perceived more realistic. Tone and timber and soundstage are exactly the same as before, just sound right, more organic and natural, especially live albums are more and more engaging.
I’m really enjoying what I’m hearing.
So it is a good thing?
(Rats. But I have been hard on you Luka. And you stay step for step and decide to lead us on. Amusing.)
I am going to whisper AMPLIFIER.
Sorry Al, I should be more explicit … it sounds REALLY nice with the PZ!
Group buy worthy.
Somebody lead in the US.
I think Audioarts in NY is the importer: https://www.audioartsnyc.com/
Gideon is also on WTB.
That is a great descriptor! Perhaps equivalent to “Sakra level”? Much better than “component level upgrade “!!
It is worth mentioning what Paul Hafner wrote to me after I sent him my comments about the Grid Protector
As previously stated, the PZ3 should never have a bad effect on any other component, but will surely benefit from any other neutral, positive influence.
I am happy that you found a new good product and I will surely look into it myself.
Can’t really say, I always suggest a home trial before purchasing anything as a rule of thumb.
Having said that I can only report how significant the improvement is in my system since I added the Grid Protector, maybe SAKRA + PZ+ GP is not equivalent to 1 + 1 + 1, rather than 3 I’m experiencing a 6 or even 9 final result.
Just remove or disable GP to easily hear the difference, like going from WOW to EXCELLENT and vice versa.
There’s a new plug-in AC thing that’s selling for under $300. If it improves PZ, I’ll save $5k for an premium set of golf clubs from Japan 🏌🏽♂️that’s enough for me on another must-have audio stuff.
Mmm I tried Furutech, Isotek, Russ Andrews, Nordost Qkore, SnubWay plug-ins… forget about them!
The Grid Protector is a different thing, don’t ask me why. I just let my ears judge.
Here from Schnerzinger website
Unlike conventional mains filters or mains generators, the GRID PROTECTOR does not work with the use of capacitors, diodes, series or parallel filters or even energised crystals, since even the fastest of these applications cause electron braking and carry-over effects, especially in the power-intensive current range. The use of common current-correcting measures is therefore always fraught with compromises that block the path to a higher level.
How much does the Grid Protector cost?
Where are you based?
I’m in the US.
I guess around 5K US$
Thanks!
None of the above. It is from AliExpress, so I do not think you are interested in ordering anything there. It is not a copy but their own design. I ordered a grounding box also just to try too. Both went $500 and it is not exactly cheap, but if they do half of $5k products that is good enough for me.
I need to save for Japan trip in January. The yen is as low as I have seen in decades, but so are our bigger appetites (already upgraded to Business Class), so no expensive audio spending for the rest of the year.
