Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! So much to be thankful for. I am really missing my parents today. . .with them gone the remaining family is all at their in-laws if they have them (my wife’s parents are gone as well) and I am awash in memories, so thankful for the lives I have come from.

Eat, drink if that’s your thing, listen to music merrily! And be safe.

A Happy Thanksgiving as well, to all. Many of us are in the age group where our parents likely are gone, and perhaps even friends or siblings. Let’s not forget to express our thanks to those who still remain. Which reminds me - a thanks to everyone here for all the friendliness, support, and help through the years!

Being not American I never celebrated Thanksgiving, but last few years on this forum made me part of your community, my friends. Hence I’m more than grateful to all of you and hope you are enjoying your day and people sharing with you this delightful moment.

Same to you, friend Luca! My wife and I will be adding to our thanks with the first bottle of that wonderful white you introduced us to. We wanted to wait for a special occasion to open a bottle. So part of our Thanksgiving will be with you in spirit - and music! :clinking_glasses:

Despite our individual troubles and tribulations, all of us here have a lot to be thankful for. I understand how fortunate am, and I appreciate everything and everyone that’s contributed in any way to my quality of life. And that includes our community here. Thank you to my hifi family!

The music was on since 8am, and we were in the kitchen preparing for the feast. The turkey was brined since last night, and fresh cranberry sauce was done. all herbs and veg. were cut. I am preparing a Chinese sticky-rice stuffing that is to die for. The secret recipe includes three different types of rice and 6 other ingredients, and it takes four hours to make. This is the most popular dish, always!

Time to put the turkey in Weber gas grill:

Happy Thanksgiving to all :turkey:

My additional thanks to Julia Child, bless her soul. I started yesterday putting her dough recipe together for her pumpkin pie, which was made this morning. After that, her wonderful roast chicken (it’s only me and my wife - what are we going to do with a turkey?), her cooked fresh cranberry sauce, roasted new potatoes, and some rather special wine (I may have already said something about that ). No pics, unfortunately. But we spent a moment to think of how fortunate we are.

Don’t forget to serve it cold enough, the wine I mean! At least 3 hours in the fridge (and the last 15 minutes in the freezer - heresy but useful trick) can help!
As we say here: “salute”!

Oh, it was cold alright - and delicious!
