Harmon vs Flat

For those of you who room tune with software do you just go with a flat target or try something else like Harmon curve?

Been finalize subwoofer placement for both home theater (2 Rythmik G25HP) and 2 ch (2 Rythmik F12 SE using speaker level). Many surprises on room response. Did the old subwoofer crawl but using phone with DB meter instead of getting on all fours.

Turns out corner where I had first big sub using JL CR-1 (now pulled out of equation) was 15db lower than new spot. Crazy how room response is sometimes.

I did a few runs

Flat
Flat w 6db bass boost
Flat w 4db bass boost

All the above only to 5000hz correction

Harmon full spectrum as just curious what it would do

Then I added a parametric eq boosting 40hz 3db with Q of 1.4 to the flat curve. That can be turned off and on as I please.

What did it like? I think Flat was best. The bass boost Focus Fidelity software added was a bit much for many songs. But I like the option of the PEQ on the fly for those big loud songs with good drum kicks etc. really nice being able to turn it off and on. With Roon swapping filters needs windows but PEQ can be done with iPad in my chair.

For reference this is where subs ended up. Hard getting all in picture at once.

I like and currently using 3.625db room gain/bass boost with the Antrhem AVM 90 ARC software. Pretty sure majority of people like some bass boost. Flat sounds, well flat. But it is ypurroom and ypur ears. Go with what sounds best to you.

Nice room!

Thanks. I do just about the same with my AVM70. And your right just about everyone does that with ARC as it’s flat after run.
