Steve Guttenburg has a new review up on his channel on the Harmony µDAC and I’m curious as to compatibility with my DSMP using my PS Audio i2S cable to get a true DSD signal. Or, is the DSMP unable, using this or any other i2S cable to pass along a DSD signal to any non-PS Audio DAC?

I could be wrong but I think the handoff of the DSD signal is proprietary to PS Audio. From my understanding, the DSD disks have rights protections on them that PS Audio worked out a handoff protocol to manage. I had thought you needed PS Audio on each end, not just and I2S connection but I don’t know for sure.
That’s what I thought too but this DAC and others offer DSD via i2S (in addition to USB, etc.) and what value is that connection on a DAC if no disc player is compatible with it??
Or maybe this disc player is compatilble with it ? ?
