Synchronika owner here as well. I bought it before the flow control was available and haven’t yet ordered the part. One of these days though. . .

That’s fantastic! I am going to have to watch some YouTube to get my art game on.

Cheez, by the time a barista is done with some of these, the coffee will be cold!

In my case, this is assured. :coffee:

If the music plays until you are done one has incentive to finish quickly.

Great control of milk v foam.

Okay, if this is really the coffee thread , I need a recommendation for a grinder. Not a $3,000 grinder. Not a $1,000 grinder. Maybe not even a $500 grinder - but a grinder that works. For the last dozen years - maybe more! - I’ve been using a Hario manual grinder. Works well enough for me in terms of grinder performance, but it has gotten old, and frankly I’ll admit I’m tired of manual grinding. I’ve looked at the usual suspects (including Baratza), but I’m not liking the negative reviews I’m reading about all of these “few hundred dollar” jobs. Recommendations wanted, but the one thing I need to be sure it can do is grind directly into a Melitta #2 and a #4 filtered holder.

I’m not a coffee aficionado but this is what I ended up with. It has worked well for a few years now grinding 3 oz of beans every morning.

It might grind directly into a filter with a little bit of McGyver work but the catch cup works good too.

a few years back when I used to care about coffee and had more free time, I used a grinder that for sure was under $50. It grinded beans great and worked forever. I do not know what the big deal on expensive grinders is nowadays. This does not mean I do not believe them, I just do not understand them; just like my cables.

Hey, I’m with you on this. As long as it grinds consistently, isn’t made of static, and doesn’t fail on me in no time, any uber-bling is unnecessary (for me).

I’m pretty fond of this one. I don’t use the espresso adapter. I put a filter directy underneath for each pot (use a Bonivata 8 cup drip machine). I purchased both in 2017 and have had zero issues.

I use a Turin DF64E single dose grinder. I think it has been discontinued but this is the closest version to it. Works great and has been rock solid. I also have a much more expensive one, but is hopper fed, not single dose, which I’ve learned to prefer the single dose more.

This one looks very intriguing, but then I read this regarding their burr options:

Both SSP options work well for espresso and which option is best for you will depend on the flavor you are looking for as well as the types of beans you use. SSP High Uniformity burrs are good for providing high mouthfeel, intense shots, balanced flavors with some floral / fruity flavors. They work well for all roast levels – light, medium and dark. SSP Unimodals have high clarity, sweet shots, well balanced with high extraction yields. They are best for higher brew ratios, such as 1:2, 1:3 or even more. They work best for medium and light roasts, but don’t work as well for dark roasts.

I’m sure this is important to the upper echelon of coffee aficionados to which I have zero aspirations, so my reaction was “really? all I want to do is grind beans!” Do I need a special burr for Tuesdays?

I’m definitively learning new stuff everyday! Didn’t know I was missing this yet…
Perhaps to be finding something unexpected below the Christmas tree?

You might want to upgrade the power cord and also investigate upscale fuses. Having the grinder sitting on special feet also makes for even grinding.

Just as normal people proclaim when subjected to our hobby: "All I want to do is listen to music. "
