Holo Red impressions

With this lot? Havin’ a laugh aren’t ya? (as they say around here)

.

(me I like standard power cords, but mine are heavy duty ex data centre guage so pretty beefy)

Exactly and there’s probably even one in the box. Waiting for the first person to use a cord that cost 4-5 times the price of the Red.

I have to say, it still looks like a really excellent piece of kit to me, I hope the SW is a flexible as it was promised to be

Hopefully mine will be here tomorrow. It’s intended for my headphone rig. After a few hundred hours I am going to test USB our vs the Network Bridge on our Bartok. It won’t stay there, just curious.

Since you decided to play with I2S, be reminded: no 44,1kHz/16bit. The non-I2S pins of the HDMI connection are kind of playground for the vendors. So the Mk1 always sees a preemphasis flag from the Red and will apply deemphasis to redbook material, making it sound dull.

I guess I’ll have to experiment, since others indicated the third switch/setting should also be on, rather than off.

Thanks.

Exactly, the 2nd switch is on.

Does the yellow mean it’s in Norwalk or is it still stuck in HK?

It look like it’s in Norwalk.

Here’s what it looks like when it’s getting ready for delivery.

I think I remember that from last delivery. looked like this and then all of sudden its our for delivery. Mine would come directly from Norwalk to my house.

OMG. You guys (my assumption is that you all are men) are like my son when he was a 10-yr old with the prospect of a beta Lego set!

Don’t grow up

The best thing about adulthood is you aren’t confined to December 25th. :santa:

Part of it is the kid in me the other part is timing work from home days. I have to report in 2 days a week. Technically I could do 1. But Wednesdays are required to report in and I have my 1:1 with my team on that day too. So I need to schedule to be home. dont like these things sitting on door step for long.

Grrrr. Guess we were wrong. Has not left HK. They took off the yellow. It’s always said Monday 20th. So still a chance for that as it still says it.

Click on all shipment updates at the bottom as that will give you current status and location.

The last step shown in all updates is the bolded item at the top. The change is the yellow is gone which what was confusing me on where the hold up was. it was in HK…Not sure why the 3 here on this forum seemed to shiped same time but mine was held…lol

Mine’s in town, so should land on my doorstep today or tomorrow.

I’m watching this closely and will chime in and try to help when I’m able. Most music is 44.1/16, so it’s important.
