Horrible bluetooth connections in Sprout100

Is anyone else having a completely unreliable and unlistenable experience with the Sprout100 bluetooth?

I’m connecting from a Mac Mini (system 10.13) that’s only about 10 feet from the Sprout.

The connection is so spotty, I’m considering returning the entire thing. Any help or troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Bluetooth uses short-wavelength UHF radio waves in the ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz.

Do you happen to have a Wifi access point still running in the 2.4Ghz band nearby?

If so, power it off and see if BT improves.

Thanks Brett, I’ll add that to the troubleshooting list.

Currently it looks as if USB peripherals are the main culprit. The Sprout has no issues with iPhone or iPad, but looks like the Mini is getting interference.

Frustrating, as there have been no prior bluetooth to speaker issues with the same setup.

Only 10’, USB cable would certainly be higher fidelity than BT. I would run a cable if at all possible.

The MacMini BT antenna/transceiver may not be the best or the Sprout but if other devices work well with it, as you mention, I would suspect the Mac.
