As important as that could be, there are also reports of high battery drain, apps crashing, and messages dropping with iOS 18. There may be some who’ve had no problems, but the reports to me are too consistent and too numerous. I’ll admit though I’d feel safer with direct satellite access.

Here the effects of the hurricane will be minor but we starting to have unusual winds (east to west which is unusual here) gusts up to 42 already which I was not expecting until tomorrow.

I have emergency absorbers on the window sills behind each of the blinds. Next step is taping the blinds shut and then putting 7 mil plastic across each of the window openings, taped to the wall. I hope none of this will be needed. Moving that rack was a b!+ch! The outside is as prepped as I can make it. Mail and packages have been delivered. Nothing to do but lock the doors and keep fingers crossed.
