Innuos PhoenixNET

Just got my Innuos PhoenixNet - bought because they had the 20% off bundle special - and must say I am amazed. You know that feeling when you want to re-listen to your entire collection and then some?! Holy smokes. Clarity clarity clarity. Depth. Precision. Drum leather. Noticing very subtle but important aspects of the music that had obvioisly been missing. Anyone else have this experience? Only issue: I was vacuuming inside and had music on when I heard a loud thud on my front porch (cement), opened the door to see the DHL guy walking away and the Innuos box there at my feet. The inside styrofoam was all cracked and there were no ‘handle with care’ or ‘fragile’ stickers on the box, so perhaps Innuos needs to figure that out. Checked the video and the DHL guy ‘frisbeed’ the box with a deft spin from about 5 feet away. wtaf. Saw $4k equipment flying and landing solid - thud. Muppet delivery driver.

Id make that video public. And if not the general public than at least few choice emails at the company

good idea

Great descriptor!

I am going to have to steal this phrase.

Enjoy your new kit.

Cheers.

Congrats!

The PNET is a great device.

You’ll soon discover how it is sensitive to

  • power cord
  • fuse
  • feet

It is a great device indeed. It greatly improves my streaming experience. I tried most of the competition and it was the best by far. Mandatory for top streaming systems.
It makes the MBLs sing.

By chance have you heard the Tempus Network Switch. I have yet to audition one, but ears I trust on this forum recommend it highly. I was close to pulling the trigger on the Phoenix Net, and reconsidered as the Tempus is similarly priced. Seems as though a Muon Pro and/or Tempus switch may be a nice alternative.

No I haven’t heard it. I don’t think that it was available when I bought the Innuos. It would be great if you could compare them.

I replaced my PhoenixNET with Tempus (+Muon Pro).

Here you can read my thoughts during my first days with it:

Thanks, that was the review I had in mind. You published it just as I was about to purchase a Phoenix. Reconsidered the Phoenix, and now my commitment to Innuos, nothing wrong with either, but there appears to better options for less capital outlay.

A most fine review, and a considerable investment in devices before the signal sees a streamer or a DAC. It hasme wondering if a fiber optical install may yield similar results at a more attractive price point.

Can’t really say about fiber upstream.

I already have fiber downstream:

  • from Innuos Statement to MSB, via ProUSB
  • from MSB Digital Director to DAC

Plugging a Chord ground array into it brought the Innuos to a higher level.

i have fibre optic and the PhoenixNET made a huge improvement

Fiber from where to where? My thought was all fiber optic.

Am getting fibre optic into my house, but not sure if also from router to server… pretty far will need to upgrade
