The strange thing is that this network card with another similar device works fine! But with the bridge - no!

Can something advise? Are there any special features for Intel network cards and PS Audio bridge ?
Thank you!

If you are not connecting to a router/switch, you need a crossover cable to connect directly to the bridge.

Thank you! Very interesting! It turns out some devices this cable require, and some do not?

I tried to connect another ARM-based device and there was no problem with this cable!

@norrest make sure you have autonegotiation enabled on the intel nic, or set it to 100mbps (not 1gbps).

bridge2 (and also bridge1) have only 100mbps link speed available (full duplex).

the cross cable should not be necessary as this works via mdx negotiation with modern hw (and it works like this in my setup with bridge2 too  )

#5

auto negotiation enabled - of course! (Another 100mb device work fine)
Also i tried to forced set to 100mb half duplex (I think full duplex will not help either!)
In the near future I will try another cable!

cross cable should not be necessary
Are you sure? Do you have experience with this network card?

#6

unfortunately not with this specific card.

however it worked fine for me with the e1000e based dual glan card in the qnap 869pro nas (but it was actually some time ago with Bridge1).

I will try to use new server OS

http://digitall.in.ua/server/

based on new kernel 4.10.*

i’m not really sure if this would help, but anyways (as the Qnap is using quite old kernels) i would try other cable (just to make sure it’s not faulty and once you are at it you may try also the cross-cable)
