Hello everyone, the question is in the topic, thanks.
Welcome!
The PWT does not play DVD-A.
However, it will play high resolution wav files burned to a DVD. I believe this is in the manual.
I do not have a record of the changes in the firmware. If not listed with the updates, I do not know what to suggest. I do recall performing the update and being content.
As Elk already stated the PWT will not play DVD-A discs directly. I have successfully used the following simple process to extract high resolution WAV files from DVD-A discs and burn them to DVD-R for playback on the PWT. First extract the desired high resolution files (2-channel) using software like DVD Audio Extractor saving them as WAV files. Then use ImgBurn (or other DVD burning software) to burn the extracted WAV files in the UDF 1.02 format to a DVD-R. I am then able to play the WAV files in their full original resolution from the burned DVD-R disc on the PWT. Hope this helps!
Ok, thanks guys.
A little note: it is important that the DVD-R be burned with UDF 1.02 format. This is a common format and what the PWT expects.

I hear you. I do not do it often enough that just about every time it takes a couple of tries to get it right.
After this, I can burn multiple DVDs with different content with no problem.
