Issues with Revelation Audio Labs

Today my brother came over to check out this cable and that I was not imagining it. This Revelation HDMI is the real thing. He got really excited on how much more vivid and open is compared with the WW Platinum S7. The WW PS7 is more veiled and less clear sounding. It wasn’t that close. However, my brother might not want to deal with this Brad because of this sit and wait he would have to endear.
My brother also brought by a pair of WW Platinum Eclipse 8 XLR’s that he just bought, over to my place for me to compare to my WW Platinum Eclipse 7 XLR’s , that I have between my phono stage to my preamp, and the difference is not too great, but you can still hear a little more detail and presence with the 8’s, so the 8’s are still a little better than the 7’ as expected. It might not be enough for me to run out and get a 8 right away though. We’ll see if my brother will want to deal with this Brad. He’ll have to think about it.

I don’t know the guy but if he was a straight shooter he would not charge the credit card until he has inventory or is ready to ship. It is just plain bad for business to do anything else. You can “reserve” the funds at the CC account but not actually make the funds transfer until you ship.

You are right. This guy should take a lesson from Wally at Underwood or Decware or anybody else. They all withhold running your credit card until they can ship the item. Then maybe he will not have so many negative attitudes towards him.
Decware also took many months to deliver, but they tell you it will take awhile and they do not charge your credit card until they can deliver, which is fine.

I have been self employed with a small machine shop for 40 years. If I took a down payment on a job it stayed in the job folder until the job was complete then I got the balance of money at delivery. There are a lot of tire kickers out there but the way the credit card companies (or PayPal) work now it is really east to get your money when you deliver the goods and keep it in reserve until then. The best quality product is of no use if delivery or service is not dependable. We get way behind at times but I always give a hard delivery date and keep my word. It is not that hard to do.

They do take a 10% non-refundable deposit at time of purchase, which I think is fair considering everything is hand-built to order.

And twice I have had my deposit returned from Decware when I’ve changed my mind . . . which is a wonderful thing.

What is the price for the Rev Audio hdmi cable that sounds better than the WWPS7? I could order one and just not even ask about when it will ship…

Money down the wishing well, it may return so what the hell.

$699 for 1.25 meter and free shipping. I bought 0.65 meter for $549. That’s the shortest he says is effective, whatever that means. No 1/2 meters. Sounding better as it breaks in. All other cables including the WW Platinum sounds a bit more veiled. I bought it from Audiogon, but it really doesn’t matter. You can get it from the Revelation web site, but will still deal with Brad. He is the designer, the founder, and the one putting together this cable. That’s what he told me.

It is amazing thinking it makes the WWPS7 sound a bit veiled.

Hard to believe but that is what I hear. Also my brother came over to check it out and he was amazed that anything could be clearer than the WWPS7. Right now I’m using the WWPS7 for video. The WWPS7 is incredible for video too. With the Revelation, If your system is very high resolution, you can hear the textures and body of instruments more clearly and with more presence and air with this cable. Brad’s got a bunch of testimonials, I don’t know who these people are, but they seem to be fairly accurate with their description of this cable as far as i can tell.
I believe Brad has a Risk-free 30 days audition guarantee, so if you don’t like it, return it and get your money back. It’s just waiting to get the cable that is the problem.

Perhaps I will be his next … customer.

Definitely sounds appealing with the shorter length. My second Inakoustik referenz ethernet is finally showing up 42 days after order tonight . 14 days in German customs. Do I have patience for nearly twice the wait for three times the investment?

Or shall I’ll wait and see for Al’s exultations to get motivated?

You can order it and sit back and forget about it for awhile. The longer you wait to order, the longer you wait to get it. If you don’t like the sound, returned it for refund. But if it does woRK for you, you’ll be in for a treat. Right now I would not go back to the Wireworld after hearing this cable in my system.

I also took back my negative feedback I gave to Brad. I know he is not delaying sending the cables because he wanted to. He was probably trying to send them out as fast as he can when we were complaining. I believe him when he told me he was inundated and was doing what he can to get these cables out. I decided to forgive him. Because I really like the cable, I’ll let him slide.

It appears it would be appropriate to edit your first post creating this thread.

The choice to forgive is an individual one. However, it still remains absolutely unacceptable for a business to irresponsibly take customers’ money and hold it hostage for months without regard, and then only provide the product it was legally and ethically obligated to produce AFTER being threatened by payment processors to take the money back. Most egregious is the pattern of practice of false/misleading promises. An occasional two-minute canned email keeping customers informed with the truth, and perhaps offering the opportunity for a refund, should never be too much to ask of a business. If it is, then a business they should not be.

When I ran my business (a large ISP) we used to fess up about everything. We wrote at length about what was going on on our network, what upgrades we were adding, how things were going. We spelled it all out clearly and our customers loved it. More than a few Business people told me I was a fool for doing so. People still tell me how much they appreciated it. After I sold the business and was pushed aside the new owners changed to a need to know kind of operation. And guess what, nobody needed to know.
It is weird how people think keeping quiet about problems is the smart move. Bah. Bah twice. Let people know early and often. They begin to be with you instead of against you.

Anyway…
