Fun! And great pictures, I believe.
You are much more patient than I. I would be assembly those beasts within five minutes of receipt.

Can you run a tape measure on those boxes? I want to figure out if I need to rent a van.
Thanks
Rob
Oh, no, they are still wild!
First you have to corral them in as seen, then carefully shoe them and then you need to break them.
In!
Break them in!
I definitely will!
Hey Rob the boxes are 32in W x 83in L.
I think you are going to like the hard wood. Is this the room you had them in before or different?
@timm You think? No it’s a new room. The original room was a little smaller.
Thanks @bluesy41
Yea. I wanted to do hardwood then use rugs to adjust. U will have that flexibility
Well it’s been bitter sweet ride thus far with my new 20.7’s. First Magnepan has went away from the Dark stain cherry finish so it’s more of a natural cherry. A little bummed about that but they are starting to wear on me. 2nd one of my Ref 210 amps decided to go out so back to ARC it went😢. My dealer is letting demo the Vandersteen M5-HPA amps which sound pretty good. I will also try the Classic 2 D’Agostino amp this week. The sound out the box amazing. Removed the rug as I didn’t need it. 5ft into the room and bass is already pretty good.
I think this is the first time I’ve seen these amps out in the wild not cabled to Vandersteen speakers. I assume your dealer has Vandersteen speakers? On my list is to compare the Vandewrsteens to the 20.7s. Do let us know your thoughts as you travel the journey. Thanks!
So far they seem to sound pretty good. I’m a tube guy by nature but Richard Vandersteen makes some pretty great musical gear.
Mine didn’t sound so hot out of the box. And finding the right position is a labor of love I’m sure you know.
Yeah I here you… my dealer originally set them up had them about 3 1/2 ft from the front wall. I knew better and after playing them all day yesterday the sound was not very good. So today I decided to position them a little more out into the and adjust the toe in and the sound improved quite a bit. Nowhere near where they will be after about 200 hrs but good enough to get a really enjoyable toe tap and a thumbs up from the wife. Female vocals are still a bit off but listenable. I honestly forgot how much I truly love these speakers. Cheers!
Based on my experience bare walls, the glass window and the tall rack will somewhat hinder the stage performance you will experience. I would highly recommend some decorative acoustic room treatment. Diffusers should work well and if possible corner bass traps depending on how exaggerated the bass may be in the corners. Good luck, great speakers that will reward you with great sound when paired with superb electronics and room setup.
Agreed. Diffusion of Mids and highs. Absorb the bass. Tube traps in the front corners can be the ticket.
Hey thanks for the feedback. I finally got my REF6SE back from ARC and I’m liking how the sound is starting to come together. I’m about 90 hrs on the 20.7’s and new cables. Another 100 plus hours and then I will get into room treatment. But the bass is really starting to open up and come alive. Again i have never had a problem with getting deep natural bass from 20.7’s in the past. No subs needed here. Voices are really the next area i focusing on improving. I know with new electronics, cables and speakers that it was going to be a process.
You might be surprised at the nice contribution a pair of decent subs can add. I never minded the combination when I listened to it.
